Vishur Laviola
Vishur Laviola is the Sage of the Sky-topping Ivory Tower, a human wizard of the Age of Myth who ascended to the Divine Throne as the Goddess of Magic. An echo preserved through the World Tree survives long enough to guide the present era's heroes. (Chapters 518 and 520)
Biography
Metamorphosis and Divine Ascension
Vishur reaches godhood in the Age of Myth and fights alongside Agaroth's wider alliance. After Destruction defeats Agaroth, she rejects the Demon King of Incarceration's offer to preserve her as a chained Demon King and instead gathers the Ivory Tower's wizards and believers. Together they transform themselves into the World Tree, preserving magic, protecting the cycle of reincarnation, and leaving a defense for the next era. Her remaining magical echo awakens when Sienna Merdein reaches toward divinity, restores Mary, explains the past, and guides Sienna's metamorphosis. Vishur also blesses Eugene's godhood against Destruction. During the final battle she exhausts her remaining intervention and enters a long slumber, trusting that a future remains in which she can awaken. (Chapters 519–523, 540, and 610)
Appearance and personality
Vishur first manifests as a luminous female figure and later forms a body within the World Tree's spiritual space. In that form she has glossy emerald hair reaching her waist, sapphire-like eyes, and later wears robes identical to Sienna's. She is proud, teasing, sharp-tongued, and confident in her magical supremacy, but her decisions also show loyalty, grief for her companions, and a willingness to sacrifice herself and her entire institution for the next world. (Chapters 518–520)
Abilities and powers
At her height, Vishur is one with magic and can use every spell known in her era. Her echo can reshape the World Tree's spiritual environment, restore and seal Mary, create protected trials, guide Sienna toward divine magic, and grant Eugene a blessing that uses the World Tree as a medium for a future miracle. Her remnant explicitly has little direct ability to affect physical reality, and major interventions consume finite divinity; the final transfer leaves her unable to awaken for a long time. (Chapters 518–523 and 610)
Relationships
- Eugene Lionheart: Vishur knew Eugene's past incarnation, Agaroth, and grants his present godhood a blessing while accepting that Eugene is not identical to his former life. (Chapters 518 and 522–523)
- Sienna Merdein: Vishur calls Sienna her junior, rejects the idea that Sienna is her reincarnation, and guides her to inherit the Divine Throne of Magic. (Chapters 518–521 and 540)
- Demon King of Incarceration: Vishur rejects Incarceration's offer of demonic preservation, entrusts Mary to pass through his hands, and remains openly hostile when they meet again. (Chapters 518–519)
- Carmen Lionheart: Impressed by Carmen's resolve, Vishur creates a repeated near-death trial to help her pursue metamorphosis. (Chapter 519)
Items
- Mary: Mary is Vishur's original staff and repository of ancient magical knowledge. She seals it against unqualified users, entrusts it to pass into the next era, and restores its living flower form when her echo awakens; Sienna then becomes its present wielder. (Chapters 518–519)
