Raizakia
Raizakia is an Ancient Black Dragon who betrays dragonkind, corrupts his mana into dark power, and becomes one of Helmuth's Three Dukes. His attempt to murder Sienna Merdein leaves both of them trapped for centuries in connected seals, and his effort to escape through his daughter Raimira leads to his death at Eugene's hands. (Chapters 92, 235, 248–262, and 294–304)
Biography
Ruhr, Lehainjar, and the Dragon Conflict
Raizakia survives the ancient destruction of the dragons by betraying the Dragon Lord, consuming the Lord's Dragon Heart, and accepting corruption rather than dying with his own kind. In Helmuth he becomes a Duke, builds the airborne Dragon Demon Castle above Karabloom, excludes humans from his territory, and displays his wealth and draconic status through an enormous gold-filled domain. His fear of stronger powers persists beneath that grandeur. When the mortally wounded Sienna takes refuge with the elves, Raizakia attacks to eliminate a human wizard who surpasses him and to seize her magical legacy. Sienna and the World Tree redirect the confrontation, trapping him in a dimensional void while her poisoned body remains sealed in the forest. (Chapters 235, 248–262, and 295–301)
Centuries of isolation deepen Raizakia's madness but do not make him willing to die. He creates Raimira as a descendant and living key whose forehead jewel connects to him, intending to recover her, escape the void, and eventually use her for breeding rather than treat her as a child. During the Samar conflict, Edmund tries to draw upon Raizakia's slumbering power for a Demon King ritual; when that ritual collapses, Raizakia reaps the dispersed dark power for himself. Eugene then uses Raimira and the dimensional connection to reach the void. Raizakia recognizes him as Hamel, demands his daughter back, and begins the fight with enough stolen energy to produce multiple breaths at once. (Chapters 262, 294–301, and 304)
Raizakia initially outlasts Eugene's strongest techniques through draconic endurance, regeneration, and concentrated scales, but his priorities create the opening that defeats him. Instead of finishing the exhausted Eugene immediately, he swallows Raimira and attacks Mer, giving Sienna's soul time to manifest through the World Tree connection. Sienna restores Eugene and joins the battle, while Eugene cuts away scales so her magic can attack their roots and infiltrate the dragon's body. Forced out of Polymorph, Raizakia takes damage to his Dragon Heart, loses the advantage of regeneration, and dies when Eugene severs the corrupted heart. His death purges the poison afflicting Sienna and leaves Raimira alive inside his body. (Chapters 300–304)
Appearance and personality
In his true form, Raizakia is an enormous black dragon with sharp scales, ragged wings, a massive tail, and eyes that become bloodshot or crimson with madness. His corpse is large enough to rival a castle, with smooth black scales and near-metallic bones. He can compress this body through Polymorph into a humanoid shape, concentrating the scales over a smaller frame and transforming limbs into bladed draconic structures when fighting at close range. (Chapters 295–304)
Raizakia is arrogant, possessive, and governed by fear of death. He calls humans insects and boasts of dragonkind's natural superiority, yet attacks Sienna when she is already mortally wounded, betrays his own species to survive, and panics when Eugene's destructive power threatens his regeneration. His greed extends to rare magic, power, gold, and bloodlines, while his language of ownership replaces affection: Raimira is valuable as a key and future breeder, not as a daughter. (Chapters 248–262 and 296–302)
Abilities and powers
As an Ancient Dragon, Raizakia possesses immense mana, instinctive magic, Dragon Fear, Polymorph, exceptionally resistant scales, rapid regeneration, and breath attacks capable of destroying a nation. Corruption converts his power and Dragon Heart toward dark power, and the consumed heart of the Dragon Lord expands his reserves. His final battle demonstrates both the natural advantages of a dragon and the vulnerabilities created by corruption, isolation, and damage to the Dragon Heart. (Chapters 295–304)
Draconic magic and Polymorph
Raizakia can perform magic through Draconic, manipulate dimensional connections, erect defensive barriers, transform between a castle-sized dragon and a human-sized combat form, and selectively turn limbs or a tail into scaled weapons. Polymorph concentrates his defenses and makes him harder for a smaller opponent to engage, but it does not remove the underlying Dragon Heart. Returning to full size can make a heart strike shallower, yet the larger body presents more openings to coordinated attackers. (Chapters 295–302)
His magic remains formidable without being supreme. Sienna's spellcraft exceeds his own in finesse, and her attacks can enter the gaps exposed when Eugene removes his scales. Once embedded, her mana contaminates his blood and reacts with the dark power he releases, producing internal explosions and moments of paralysis. The dragon's inherent resistance prevents those spells from killing him alone, but it cannot stop them from creating openings for Eugene. (Chapters 300–302)
Dragon Fear, scales, and regeneration
Dragon Fear projects death and destruction strongly enough to freeze Eugene's body and break Mer's magical form. Raizakia's scales neutralize most spells, his entire physiology resists magic, and lost flesh or even the head can regenerate while his Dragon Heart remains functional. These defenses consume time and power rather than making him invulnerable: destructive moonlight erases scales, holy power cuts through them, and repeated regeneration slows after his reserves and heart are damaged. (Chapters 296 and 300–302)
Breath and corrupted dark power
Raizakia gathers dark power into breath attacks vastly stronger than an imitation of dragon breath produced by human weaponry. He can prepare numerous spheres simultaneously, fire at close range, and change to a poisonous breath that previously left Sienna near death. The reserves supporting those attacks come from his corrupted heart, the Dragon Lord's consumed heart, and dark power stolen when Edmund's ritual fails. Expenditure weakens later breaths, while holy and destructive forces can split or neutralize their trajectories. (Chapters 296–302)
The corruption that prolongs his life also establishes his final limit. Raizakia is not an undead with a separate life vessel, and his contaminated Dragon Heart remains the center of his continued existence. Once Eugene and Sienna damage it, his healing and dark-power output decline; when Eugene cuts it in two, neither Polymorph nor regeneration can preserve him. His fallen state also prevents his remains from naturally returning to the world's mana. (Chapters 302–304)

Relationships
- Sienna Merdein: Raizakia cannot tolerate a human surpassing him as a wizard and attacks Sienna while she is gravely wounded. She traps him through the World Tree, survives the poison he leaves in her body, and later joins Eugene in dismantling his defenses; his death finally allows her body to recover. (Chapters 235, 295–304, and 310)
- Eugene Lionheart: Eugene enters the dimensional void to free Sienna and protect Raimira. Raizakia recognizes his identity as Hamel and covets his Lionheart blood, but misjudges how far Eugene will push his body. Eugene survives with Sienna's intervention and destroys the Dragon Heart that sustains him. (Chapters 294–304)
- Raimira: Raizakia creates Raimira as a key and future breeding vessel, leaving her to rule an empty castle while he remains sealed. She still longs for paternal recognition but ultimately stands between him and Eugene; Raizakia swallows her without affection, and she survives his death to reject the bond he never honored. (Chapters 248–262 and 294–305)
- Noir Giabella: Noir is Raizakia's fellow Duke and openly mocks both his magical imagination and the cowardice behind his corruption. He insists he would defeat her in a direct battle, but her assessment identifies his central weakness: becoming a Demon Dragon extended his life without overcoming the fear that drove him to betray dragonkind. (Chapters 253, 296, and 300)
- Demon King of Incarceration: Raizakia serves as one of Incarceration's Three Dukes after betraying the dragons. The position gives him territory and status but does not erase the hierarchy he fears; unlike Gavid, his loyalty is not shown as devotion, and his response to overwhelming power is consistently survival and self-preservation. (Chapters 92, 237, 248–253, and 296–301)
