Narissa

Narissa is an elf whom Eugene and Kristina rescue in the Samar rainforest after her escape from slavery. She later volunteers to serve Eugene, trains as a Lionheart maid, and becomes one of his personal attendants under Nina's supervision. (Chapters 94–115, 157–159, 249, and 618)

Biography

Nahama, Samar, and Sienna's Legacy

Narissa is found injured beside a river after escaping a merchant who had owned her for ten years. Despite a poorly fitted prosthesis and the Garung Tribe's pursuit, she tries to repay her rescuers by working and uses her keen hearing and sensitivity to the World Tree's song to help guide their party. Eugene brings her to the Lionheart estate with the other rescued elves; she volunteers for domestic service, becomes an apprentice maid, and eventually graduates into a shared role as Eugene's personal attendant. By the final household scenes she remains alive, assists head maid Nina, and helps care for Gerhard during Vermouth's return. (Chapters 94–102, 115, 129, 157–159, 249, and 618)

Appearance and personality

Narissa is an elf and is one hundred thirty years old when rescued. Her left foot had been amputated long before her first appearance, and a cheap prosthetic had injured the stump; she later receives a better prosthetic leg but initially struggles to balance on it. The corpus calls her beautiful but does not provide a stable hair color, eye color, height, or detailed clothing description beyond her later Lionheart maid uniform. (Chapters 94–95, 129, 157, and 249)

Years of enslavement leave Narissa fearful, apologetic, and eager to placate anyone with power, but she is also sincere, observant, and determined to be useful. She volunteers for chores without being ordered, presses on despite limited mobility, and becomes increasingly confident within the estate, though her enthusiasm for personally attending Eugene can still make her competitive with Lavera. (Chapters 94–95, 101–102, 115, 157, and 249)

Abilities and powers

Narissa has the keen hearing typical of elves and can perceive the World Tree's mental “song,” allowing her to identify its direction in Samar. She also knows spirit summoning, but the narration rates her only slightly above a beginner, and she is not presented as a combatant. Her prosthetic leg restores independent mobility, though it limits her speed and initially causes balance problems. (Chapters 95, 98, 129, 157, and 249)
