Leo Dragonic

Leo Dragonic is the only son and designated heir of Alchester Dragonic. At ten years old he is already recognized for unusually strong mana sensitivity and early sword energy, leading Alchester to ask Eugene Lionheart to train him. (Chapters 174–179)

Biography

The Hunt and the Holy Empire

Leo greets Eugene by hiding under his bed and firing vinegar water at him, confident that his father's status will protect him from consequences. Eugene's immediate retaliation and severe instruction force an apology, then reveal that Leo can perceive extremely subtle mana. Over one week Leo changes from a pampered prankster into an earnest student who cries at his teacher's departure and promises to remember the lessons, obey his father, and stop relying on the Dragonic name. Eugene judges his raw gift slightly superior to Cyan's but warns that Leo lacks Cyan's tenacity and habit of continual self-improvement. Years later, Alchester arranges for Leo to enroll in Eugene's academy and explicitly authorizes Eugene to expel him if he tries to use family influence as a shield. (Chapters 174–179 and 625)

Appearance and personality

At ten, Leo has red hair and blue eyes like his father, a notably fit body, and lingering baby fat on a round face. He is mischievous, proud, curious, and initially spoiled by Alchester's indulgence. He is also passionate about training and responsive to firm correction: beneath the swagger, he works seriously enough to become attached to Eugene's instruction and is openly distressed when the week of lessons ends. His detailed adult appearance is not established by Chapter 625. (Chapters 174–179)

Abilities and powers

Leo begins mana control at six and can produce a small amount of sword energy by age ten. His most clearly demonstrated gift is sensitivity: he partially detects a trace of mana so faint that Eugene believes most knights would miss it. Eugene considers Leo's natural talent slightly better than Cyan Lionheart's, but separates potential from present strength and notes that talent without tenacity is insufficient. He trains in Dragonic-family swordsmanship and receives a week of direct instruction from Eugene, but the corpus does not specify which lessons become named techniques or whether he has learned the Empty Sword by the end of the covered chapters. The Dragon Fear sensed around him is not Leo's ability; it comes from Ariartelle, who watches over the mansion and warns Eugene through Draconic. • Eugene Lionheart: Eugene corrects Leo's entitled behavior and trains him intensively for one week. Leo becomes attached to him as a teacher, while Eugene recognizes both his exceptional potential and the weakness created by an overly comfortable upbringing. (Chapters 174–179)
