Count Karad is the young Giant Demon lord of Ruol, a Helmuth territory bordering Raizakia's Karabloom. He exploits the Black Dragon's absence to invade Dragon Demon Castle with Jagon and an army of mercenaries, but loses his forces, fortune, territory, and life when the campaign collapses. Biography

Ruhr, Lehainjar, and the Dragon Conflict

Karad spends years provoking Dragon Demon Castle while avoiding a direct challenge to Raizakia. After Noir privately assures him that the Black Dragon will not intervene, he invests most of his accumulated wealth in Jagon, beastfolk mercenaries, flying demonic beasts, and his elite soldiers. Their surprise attack breaches the castle, and surrender should transfer its possessions to him. Eugene instead kills Jagon and crashes the castle into Karabloom, erasing the expected spoils. Karad survives the destruction with one arm lost but threatens to expose Noir's role; Noir responds by crushing him with dark power and arranging history to remember only a failed conqueror. (Chapters 253–269)

Appearance and personality

Karad is a giant demon with an enormous stature and hands large enough to emphasize his species. The corpus does not establish his hair, eyes, or detailed clothing. He is ambitious and strategically opportunistic, but wants Raizakia's developed territory as a ready-made prize rather than a ruin he must rebuild. His delight in the castle's destruction turns quickly to despair when he realizes its wealth has vanished. (Chapters 253, 261, and 265–268)

Abilities and powers

Karad is described as a talented and strong young noble, commands elite troops and flying demonic beasts, and personally survives the catastrophic fall of Dragon Demon Castle. His giant-demon body can regenerate a severed arm over time, though damage from unusual power slows that recovery. No named personal technique is shown. He relies chiefly on Jagon's combat power and his purchased army, leaving him helpless against Noir after those assets disappear. (Chapters 253, 261–268)

Relationships

  • Jagon: Karad hires Jagon under a contract lasting until Raizakia appears. He expects Jagon to secure Dragon Demon Castle and support his rise in Pandemonium, but Jagon's death destroys that plan. (Chapters 255–268)
  • Noir Giabella: Noir tells Karad that Raizakia will not intervene but never promises victory. When Karad accuses her after the defeat, she kills him and suppresses the true record of the battle. (Chapters 267–269)
  • Raimira: Dragon Demon Castle's generals intend to use Raimira as a disposable acting lord who can surrender to Karad. Karad never gains possession of her because Eugene removes her before the castle falls. (Chapters 258–269)
