Bron
Bron, identified in the corpus as Bron Jerak, is a knight sworn to Count Kobal, one of Shimuin's Twelve Finest, and the escort assigned to Dajarang Kobal in Samar. He supports Dajarang's pursuit of an elf and is killed almost instantly when he challenges an overwhelmingly stronger beastfolk. (Chapters 95–103)
Biography
Nahama, Samar, and Sienna's Legacy
Bron accompanies Dajarang during negotiations with the Garung Tribe and encourages Ujicha to pursue a one-legged elf rather than pay for a captive. He repeatedly manages Dajarang's tantrums, promising Ujicha political rewards for patience while remaining loyal to the Kobal household. When the group catches the stranger who has killed Garung warriors, Bron identifies himself and attacks to defend his master's honor. His renowned quick thrust fails completely: the stranger tears off both arms, crushes his sword-force barehanded, and splits his body in two. Dajarang and Ujicha then conceal the humiliating circumstances of his death. (Chapters 95–103)
Appearance and personality
The supplied chapters do not provide a reliable hair color, eye color, age, or detailed build for Bron. He carries himself as a confident noble knight, smiles while offering corrupt advancement, and can be cautious when assessing an unknown fighter. That caution collapses when Dajarang's honor is insulted, revealing pride and class loyalty stronger than his judgment. (Chapters 95–98)
Abilities and powers
Bron is the youngest and least highly regarded member of Shimuin's Twelve Finest, still placing him among the kingdom's twelve strongest knights. He wields a long sword and specializes in a rapid thrust that closes distance in a single step. He can also coat his bare hand in sword-force after losing his weapon arm. Neither technique can penetrate his killer's physical strength, demonstrating the large gap between national knightly rank and elite demonfolk power. (Chapters 98 and 101)
Relationships
- Dajarang: Bron is Dajarang's sworn escort and tolerates his cruelty as part of service to Count Kobal. He attacks when Dajarang demands satisfaction and dies protecting the household's honor. (Chapters 95–101)
- Ujicha: Bron mediates between Ujicha and Dajarang, promising to recommend the warrior to Count Kobal and introduce him to Shimuin society. Their alliance is based on patronage and the planned trade in Samar. (Chapters 95–101)
- Barang: The corpus later identifies Bron's killer as Barang. Bron's speed and sword-force prove useless against Barang's demonic reinforcement and barehanded strength. (Chapters 98, 103, and 111)
