Alphiero Lasat

Alphiero Lasat is an ancient vampire clan leader who submitted to the Demon King of Destruction during the war three hundred years ago. He preserves part of his clan in Ravesta, cooperates with Amelia Merwin, and later joins the specter's forces in Hauria, where he is killed by Eugene. (Chapters 395–397, 416–440, and 465–477)

Biography

Raguyaran and Giabella City

Alphiero originally led a large independent vampire clan, but the destruction of rival clans convinced him to subordinate himself to Destruction for survival. He follows that Demon King into Ravesta and accepts alien dark power as a replacement for blood; clan members who cannot withstand it die, while attempted deserters become sacrifices. Centuries later, Alphiero supplies information to Amelia, binds Hemoria through his blood, and helps prepare the specter and undead for war. His confidence in his master's power becomes fatal in Hauria: despite being among Destruction's strongest subjects, he cannot withstand Eugene and dies, ending the blood hierarchy that compelled Hemoria's obedience. (Chapters 395–397, 416–440, and 465–477)

Appearance and personality

The corpus presents Alphiero as an old male vampire with smiling eyes and a calm, courteous manner; it does not establish a detailed hair color, clothing description, or apparent age. His politeness often masks pressure, greed, and strict clan authority. He is deeply loyal to Destruction, rejects Noir Giabella's offer of another position, and mistakes the specter's temporary tolerance for recognition of his strength. (Chapters 395–397 and 465)

Abilities and powers

Alphiero is a high-ranking vampire able to survive for centuries and pass his blood to a younger vampire. That blood grants abilities such as movement through shadows, but also creates an instinctive hierarchy so severe that Hemoria would be unable to resist even a suicidal command from him. Destruction's dark power replaces normal blood consumption and raises Alphiero among the strongest of Ravesta's subjects, though weaker clan members cannot bear the strain. (Chapters 395–396, 416–418, and 477)

He can exert ominous dark power and command other vampires and demonfolk, but his limits are stark. Noir subdues him instantly with superior hypnotism, the specter can threaten his soul without directly looking at him, and Eugene ultimately kills him during the Hauria battle. His age and rank therefore do not place him near the dukes or the Hero. (Chapters 395–397, 440, and 465–477)

Relationships

  • Amelia Merwin: Alphiero provides Amelia with outside information and works with her war preparations, while remaining willing to use her forces for Ravesta's campaign. (Chapters 416–424 and 440–477)
  • Hemoria: He feeds Hemoria his blood, strengthening her vampiric traits but imposing near-absolute instinctive obedience. His death gives her freedom rather than grief. (Chapters 416–418 and 476–477)
  • Noir Giabella: Alphiero tries to turn Noir away from Ravesta and cannot enforce the request. She regards him as far beneath her and disables him without difficulty when he interferes. (Chapters 395–397)
