Eye of the Deep

History

Renfei carries one of Northstrider's Eyes into Ghostwater. After her death, Lindon recovers the cracked construct and uses it to open research chambers. He installs the discarded oracle spirit Dross into the Eye, which provides a temporary vessel and access to the facility before Dross consumes the final Ghostwater and bonds to Lindon. (Chapters 84, 87, 89–94, 96–97, 100)

Properties and use

The construct identifies authorized users and opens sealed Ghostwater doors. It can house an oracle spirit and interface with the facility's remaining systems. Damage limits its reliability, and Dross eventually outgrows its purpose when the completed mind-spirit becomes a direct spiritual bond rather than a device-bound assistant.
