Fate Overgod Sword

The Fate Overgod Sword, also called the Lightsaber, is Orloff's offensive Overgod artifact. Augusta wields it through their shared identity, but the sword belongs to Orloff and displays greater power after returning to his direct control. (Chapters 783 and 805)

History

The Lightsaber in Augusta's hands

The sword first appears in the hands of Augusta, Orloff's Sovereign clone, during his battle with Linley. Augusta uses its speed and force to drive back Linley despite the opposing Life Overgod Sword. The later revelation that Augusta and Orloff are one person clarifies that Augusta is a clone-wielder rather than an independent owner. (Chapters 783 and 805)

Return to Orloff and destruction

After Augusta dies, the Lightsaber flies away from his corpse under Orloff's remote control, breaks through Linley's attempt to contain it, and returns to Orloff. Orloff then channels his own supreme sword technique through the artifact. Linley's Life Overgod Sword initially saves him from the blow, showing the Fate weapon's enormous offensive force without making it solely responsible for Orloff's personally developed technique. (Chapter 805)

During their final exchange, Orloff strikes Linley's transforming body with the Fate Overgod Sword. The first blow leaves only a shallow scratch and the next fails to break his skin. Linley then catches the blade and snaps it in half; one broken section falls into the sea while Orloff retains the other momentarily. The artifact is therefore destroyed rather than transferred intact to a new owner. (Chapter 806)

Abilities and properties

• As an Overgod weapon, the sword can move under Orloff's remote control faster than ordinary Sovereigns and does not require blood-binding for him to use it. (Chapter 805)
• Augusta can wield it, but the text states that Orloff can draw out substantially more of its power than his Sovereign clone. The item's output therefore depends on its wielder. (Chapters 783 and 805)
• Orloff channels Samsara Transcendence through the sword, producing a devastating attack accompanied by four colored sword illusions. The technique is the result of Orloff's research and power, not a property demonstrated to originate from the artifact alone. (Chapters 805 and 806)
• The weapon is exceptionally resilient but not absolutely indestructible: after Linley's four-way transformation, he catches it barehanded and breaks it in two. (Chapter 806)
