Haeru
Haeru is a Blackcloud Panther tamed by Linley Baruch and kept as a trusted magical-beast companion. He protects the Baruch household through its early dangers and eventually advances from the ninth rank to the Saint and divine levels. (Chapters 177–230, 320–334, 395, 427, 449, 624)
Biography
The O'Brien Empire And New Companions
Initially a peak ninth-rank magical beast, Haeru accompanies Linley through the O'Brien Empire and guards the people placed under his protection. His speed and vigilance prove decisive when he kills the poisoner Holmer with one blow. Watching Bebe reach the Saint level first leaves Haeru frustrated and jealous, so he absorbs a Saint-level magicite core and achieves his own breakthrough, after which he continues serving the household through its wars and migrations. Linley later gives Haeru the opportunity to enter the divine realm and, after he becomes a Demigod, provides a wind-element God spark for gradual fusion. Haeru remains attached to Dragonblood Castle rather than developing a separate political ambition, so his advancement strengthens the family circle he has protected since his taming. Appearance and personality
Haeru is a cold-looking black panther whose reserve contrasts with Bebe's talkativeness. He is obedient and protective toward Linley's household, but his reaction to Bebe's faster advancement reveals pride and a strong competitive desire to improve. (Chapters 177–230)
