Kaparang

Kaparang is a rising lycanthrope warrior of the Blood Companions and a distant relative of Caitlin. He reinforces In-gong's coalition during the fighting in Evian, serving as both a front-line beast-form combatant and an officer among the lycanthrope troops.

Biography

Blood Companion in Evian

Kaparang arrives in Evian with Caitlin's reinforcements and is introduced as a rising star of the Blood Companions. He helps Alita calm the disordered troops, reports the army's condition and expected reinforcements, and remains active as the force presses into barbarian-held territory. During the decisive operations, he calls for Beast Form, leads transformed lycanthropes beside Caitlin, and fights the barbarian king's force while staying close to In-gong's advance. After the campaign he continues working and patrolling in Evian rather than leaving with In-gong's party. He is still referenced there later, but the supplied chapters do not state what happens to him after that point. (Chapters 119–121, 124, 127–128, 135, 145, and 153)

Appearance and personality

Kaparang is a very large, heavily muscled lycanthrope, described as even bigger than Chris. His smile resembles Caitlin's, reinforcing their family resemblance. A later comparison calls a bathtub large enough for Kaparang and Kappa a “giant” bathtub, but this describes its size and does not identify Kaparang as a member of the giant species. (Chapters 119 and 153)

He is disciplined and attentive to battlefield conditions. Kaparang can steady soldiers after a confused engagement, delivers a concise assessment of morale and losses, and readily relays or executes Caitlin's orders. His respectful manner toward the royal party coexists with the aggressive confidence expected of a Blood Companion. (Chapters 120–121 and 127)

Powers and abilities

Kaparang is trained for the Blood Companions' front line, where lycanthrope warriors are expected to fight effectively with their bare hands. By invoking Beast Form, he becomes a large silver werewolf and joins mass charges by the transformed lycanthropes. His demonstrated strengths are physical combat, endurance, and small-unit leadership; the corpus does not name a personal spell or unique technique beyond Beast Form. (Chapters 119, 124, and 127–128)

Relationships

  • Caitlin: Caitlin regards Kaparang as a cousin because of their distant royal blood. He reinforces her in Evian, follows her orders, and fights beside her and the other lycanthropes during the campaign. (Chapters 119–120 and 127–128)
  • In-gong: Kaparang joins In-gong's Evian coalition and helps lead the lycanthrope contingent through its major battles. He remains behind in Evian when In-gong departs, preventing a direct farewell between them. (Chapters 119–120, 127–128, and 145)
  • Alita: Kaparang and Alita jointly restore order among the troops after the initial battle and lead the soldiers' victory cry. (Chapter 120)

Items

  • No notable personal item is included in Kaparang's finalized inventory. The supplied chapters do not assign him a named weapon or catalogued artifact. (Chapters 119–153)
