Isabella is the lamia official in charge of the Demon King's Palace's Merits Department. She records achievements, administers rewards and assignments, announces merits at court gatherings, and continues performing ceremonial duties during the palace's reconstruction.

Biography

Merits, Rewards, and Court Service

Isabella first receives In-gong as an obscure prince, verifies the extraordinary merits from his first assignment, and guides him through the resulting residence upgrade. As his standing rises, she becomes a recurring administrative witness to that change: she delivers an unusually direct mission from the demon king, reports royal achievements before the court, explains regional threats, and enforces the order in which the royal children select deployments. Although exceptional court decisions sometimes surprise her, she repeatedly regains her professional focus and completes the proceedings. After the original palace is destroyed and reconstruction begins, Isabella remains in service and formally calls In-gong's final entry as Ninth Prince at his coronation. Appearance and personality

Isabella is a lamia with red hair, the upper body of a beautiful woman, and the lower body of a snake. She wears a neat uniform adapted to her body and is introduced as intelligent-looking. Her tail visibly moves when she is pleased, while surprise can make her drop papers or speak more loudly than intended. (Chapters 39, 41, 102–103)

She is cordial and often playful with royal children she knows, but her friendliness does not weaken her official authority. Isabella can apply gentle pressure when choices must be made quickly, maintain a solemn tone when announcing a crisis, and resume formal procedure after disruptive surprises. Isabella specializes in palace administration and ceremonial presentation.
