Yun Yun

Yun Yun is the Misty Cloud Sect leader who first meets Xiao Yan under the alias Yun Zhi. Her bond with him repeatedly conflicts with loyalty to her disciple and sect; after Yun Shan's rule destroys that institution, Granny Hua's inheritance gives her a new position within the Flower Sect. Biography

Trials in the Magic Beast Mountain Range

The Misty Cloud Sect leader enters the mountain range alone to seek the Amethyst Winged Lion's crystal and is sealed and wounded in battle. She needs the Purple Spirit Crystal for Nalan Yanran and wants to preserve her identity and dignity while temporarily powerless. Under the alias Yun Zhi she accepts care from Xiao Yan, cooperates with him on a second attempt, protects him, gives him armor and techniques, and parts without revealing her station. Her guarded alliance with 'Yao Yan' becomes affectionate; Chapter 362 later explicitly reveals Yun Zhi as Yun Yun and Yao Yan as Xiao Yan. She obtains help but leaves with an unresolved personal bond to the youth her own disciple will challenge. The Desert Hunt for a Heavenly Flame

Yun Yun joins Gu He's desert expedition and later returns to find that Xiao Yan is the opponent in Nalan Yanran's challenge. She helps seek the Green Lotus Core Flame, meets Xiao Yan briefly without resolving their identities, returns after the duel, comforts Nalan Yanran, and intervenes in the renewed sect crisis. She resists the forced marriage, confronts Xiao Yan during the final battle, cries out when he is about to kill Yun Shan, then accepts the sect's dissolution and leaves rather than rebuild its power. In the Central Plains, Granny Hua transfers vast Dou Qi and a succession claim to Yun Yun, but rival Flower Sect leadership contests it. Years after the war and Xiao Yan's marriage, Yun Yun remains in the Flower Sect, where numerous faction leaders court her without success. The narration attributes their failure to the figure still occupying her heart. Nalan Yanran then delivers Xiao Yan's invitation to return to the Jia Ma Empire. Yun Yun's composure breaks: her voice trembles, her eyes moisten, and her thoughts return not to Misty Cloud Mountain but to the Magical Beast Mountain Range.
