Qing Lin
Qing Lin is a girl of mixed human and snake-person ancestry whose rare Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils make her both a target and an unusually powerful controller of snake-aligned beasts. First protected by the Desert Metal Mercenary Company, she later returns from the Sky Serpent Mansion as a high-level ally of Xiao Yan. (Chapters 186, 202, 1253–1255, 1542)
Biography
Rescue in the Tager Desert
Qing Lin begins as a timid adolescent maid in Xiao Ding's company. The green scales at her wrist expose her mixed ancestry, and sustained contempt has taught her to shrink from attention even among people who protect her. Xiao Yan's uncomplicated kindness therefore carries unusual weight. Wanting to repay that safety, she reports the powerful related aura she senses east of Rock Desert City and guides the search party toward evidence connected to the desert's Heavenly Flame. (Chapters 186, 189, 195)
Her eyes awaken amid the struggle involving the twin-headed fire spirit snake, turning a stigmatized inheritance into an ability others covet. That power does not immediately grant independence: the Mo clan abducts her for the pupils, and Xiao Yan's rescue attempt cannot determine her long-term future before the Sky Serpent Mansion takes her away. The episode makes her strategically important, but its sharper consequence is personal—kindness gives her a loyalty of her own just as powerful institutions begin trying to define her by what her eyes can do. (Chapters 202, 242, 264, 1254)
Sky Serpent Disciple and Reunion
Years of training change Qing Lin's posture, reach, and confidence. When she reappears masked during a contest over a Pill Beast, she can carry controlled snake experts as a mobile fighting force and initially opposes Xiao Yan's group without recognizing him. Recognition restores the family-like attachment she preserved through separation, but the encounter does not reduce her to the frightened girl he remembers: she now makes tactical decisions for herself and possesses enough force to threaten veteran Central Plains experts. (Chapters 1253–1254)
Her confrontation with Zi Yan also exposes an important limit in judgment and power. Qing Lin's pupils detect the beast beneath Zi Yan's human appearance and she instinctively attempts control, only to meet resistance from a bloodline that cannot be treated like an ordinary snake target. Xiao Yan stops the conflict and reunites two allies who initially read one another as threats. Qing Lin joins his circle with mature strength, but the mistake shows that mastery of the pupils does not make every first interpretation correct. (Chapters 1253–1255)
Poison Crisis and Alliance Combatant
Qing Lin's return is followed by an Emperor Python Heart Eroding Poison that threatens both her health and the foundation built during her years at the Sky Serpent Mansion. She entrusts the treatment to Xiao Yan, whose medicine stabilizes her rather than simply masking the damage. The episode renews their protector-and-family bond on different terms: she is no longer helpless, yet accepts specialized help where her own ocular talent and cultivation cannot solve the danger. (Chapter 1272)
In the wars that follow, Qing Lin uses the pupils as part of coordinated alliance combat rather than as a solitary trump card. She fights beside Little Fairy Doctor, Cai Lin, and other Sky Mansion experts against Hall of Souls forces, converting or suppressing compatible snake-aligned power while stronger Ban Sheng opponents still force collective defense. By the Chapter 1542 expedition she has reached first-star Dou Sheng. Her rank and rare technique give her high strategic value, though the corpus does not place routine alliance administration in her hands. (Chapters 1437, 1472, 1488, 1527, 1529, 1542)
Appearance and personality
As an adolescent, Qing Lin is small and visibly anxious, with green snake scales at her wrist marking her mixed ancestry. At reunion she is tall and slender, and the composure with which she masks herself and commands controlled experts contrasts sharply with her earlier tendency to retreat from scrutiny. (Chapters 186, 1253–1254)
Discrimination initially makes her shy, but not indifferent: she eagerly helps those who show her kindness and retains deep gratitude toward Xiao Yan through years of separation. Training gives that loyalty confidence and force. Her impulsive attempt to control Zi Yan demonstrates that confidence can outrun understanding in a sudden encounter, while her later alliance work shows greater willingness to coordinate her specialty with other fighters. (Chapters 186, 189, 1253, 1255, 1472)
Abilities and cultivation
Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils
The Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils are an inherited ocular power associated with Qing Lin's mixed human-snake ancestry; the cited chapters do not explain a complete genealogical mechanism. Their first manifestations let her sense a related, powerful presence in the desert and establish control over compatible snake-type beings. The eyes can also expose a snake-beast form concealed beneath a human appearance. Controlled targets retain some consciousness even when Qing Lin commands their bodies, distinguishing the effect from simple puppet refinement. (Chapters 189, 195, 202, 1253)
After Sky Serpent Mansion training, Qing Lin can store or summon numerous controlled experts and use them as a mobile guard force. In battle the pupils can restrain or turn snake-aligned opponents, changing the numerical balance without requiring her to overpower every target through Dou Qi alone. She applies that advantage in later alliance campaigns, especially when teammates can pressure enemies while she disrupts compatible targets. The technique's demonstrated operating boundary is affinity: it is not presented as unrestricted control over any living being. (Chapters 1253, 1437, 1472, 1488, 1529)
The failed attempt on Zi Yan demonstrates a more specific counter. Qing Lin can perceive Zi Yan's true nature, but Zi Yan's exceptional bloodline and strength resist subordination; opponents at Ban Sheng level can likewise overwhelm Qing Lin through raw force even when the eyes remain useful. The pupils awaken in the desert, are refined through years of formal training, and remain her defining specialty after she reaches first-star Dou Sheng. No later independent level or expanded target class is established beyond Chapter 1542. (Chapters 1253–1255, 1488, 1529, 1542)
Dou Qi cultivation
Qing Lin's cultivation rises dramatically during her absence under the Sky Serpent Mansion. By reunion she can operate alongside Dou Zun-class controlled experts, and subsequent treatment preserves the foundation threatened by the Emperor Python Heart Eroding Poison. Her later first-star Dou Sheng rank supplies the speed, endurance, and raw force needed to survive high-level alliance warfare, but it does not erase the gap against stronger Ban Sheng or Dou Sheng opponents; her best results continue to come from combining cultivation, ocular control, and allied pressure. (Chapters 1253, 1272, 1488, 1529, 1542)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils awakened | 195–202 | Her mixed ancestry manifests as an ocular power able to sense and control compatible snake beings. |
| Sky Serpent Mansion mastery | By 1253 | Formal training expands the pupils into a mobile force of stored, controlled snake-aligned experts; incompatible or superior bloodlines can resist. |
| Emperor Python Heart Eroding Poison | 1272 | Poison threatens her cultivation foundation and requires outside treatment, temporarily limiting her progression. |
| First-star Dou Sheng | 1529 | Later cultivation reaches the Saint realm while the pupils remain her principal method of changing battlefield balance. |
