Arcelia

Arcelia is the lost princess of the Maple Empire and the master of the ice dragon Eleonora. Freed from an Ice Coffin after three hundred years but incapacitated by a Soul Curse, she eventually recovers through Alex Rogue's intervention and chooses a new household that develops into marriage and family. (Chapters 112–140, 413–415, 458–459, and 509–512)

Biography

Rescue and suspended recovery

Alex opens Arcelia's Ice Coffin in the Mystical Temple, waking her into a world three centuries removed from the war she remembers. Eleonora tells her that the Maple Empire lost after the Grand Mage Esteban annihilated its troops and imprisoned its princess; a later narrative aside calls the curse-caster Sebastian, although Arcelia herself also names Esteban after recovery. Arcelia's first response is royal and combative: she orders Eleonora to subdue the strangers so she can restore the empire, but the dragon refuses because Alex's group is too strong. Arcelia then collapses coughing blood, and Alex identifies the curse as something still embedded in her soul rather than merely in the coffin. (Chapters 112, 123, and 414)

Eleonora begs Alex to save her master, and he carries Arcelia to Alera's home in the Fox Tribe Village because neither he nor the temple's magic can remove a Soul Curse. The princess remains unconscious while Alera, Lilith, and the others keep her stable; even after a week, she shows no sign of waking, and a later visit finds her pale and breathing shallowly. Eleonora stays nearby or within Arcelia's pet space, waiting for a cure and adapting to the village that shelters them. Arcelia therefore spends most of the documented interval between rescue and recovery unable to act for herself. (Chapters 112–115 and 140)

Family reunion and survival

Much later, Alex returns with the Annihilation Crucifix, whose curse-purging power can finally reach Arcelia's soul. The relic draws a violent black aura from her body until the system confirms that the Soul Curse is gone. Arcelia wakes frightened by Alex's presence but soon discovers that she can stand without pain and form ice above her palm again. Outside, she embraces Eleonora, thanks the people who cared for them, and introduces herself as Arcelia Maple, a level-600 wielder of advanced ice magic. Her gratitude replaces the highborn commands and suspicion that shaped her first awakening. (Chapters 413–414)

Arcelia initially intends to avenge her empire by killing Esteban, but Alex tells her that the hostile Grand Mages have already been killed. With revenge rendered unnecessary and her kingdom gone, Alera offers her a place in the village. Arcelia chooses to stay, encouraged by Eleonora's experience of the refuge, and begins settling into the existing group. She is playful enough to rummage eagerly through Alex's pile of spare gear, yet remains a newcomer rather than one of his four wives at this stage. When Alex leaves, she and Eleonora promise to behave and maintain the peace they have just found. (Chapters 414–415)

By the eve of the Chosen Games, Arcelia is training with Alera in advanced ice combat. She does not rush to greet Alex with the four established wives, keeping a cautious distance because she does not yet know him as well, but offers a quiet expression of belief when he explains the coming divine war. During the countdown, Alex answers her questions gently, and Alice Starfield pulls the hesitant princess into the family's collective embrace. Arcelia accepts the comfort and cries with the others when Alex disappears, showing a developing trust grounded in inclusion rather than a relationship declared before it exists. (Chapters 458–459)

After Alex survives, Arcelia questions him about Kaelios and listens to the full account of the Games. She crosses into Earth with Alera and Lilith once the worlds connect, but the loss of her original kingdom leaves her uncertain whether she belongs in Alex's group. Aurelia calls her a friend and Alex tells her she is no longer alone; only then does the narration raise the possibility of her becoming his fifth wife. Ten years later that possibility is realized: Arcelia is explicitly one of his five wives, has two children with him, and smiles beside their daughter Maelle within a household where all wives jointly raise all ten children. (Chapters 509–510 and 512)

Appearance and personality

Arcelia is a graceful woman with delicate features and silvery hair; the corpus does not specify her eye color. Although the Ice Coffin confines her for three centuries, later narration credits the Soul Curse with preserving her without visible aging, leaving her initially pale, weak, and hesitant after each awakening. She first carries herself as an imperious princess determined to rebuild her empire, but recovery exposes gratitude, curiosity, and a more playful enthusiasm for magical objects. Her later reserve is not hostility: she keeps her distance while unfamiliar with Alex, then deliberately accepts comfort and family once invited. The epilogue describes her as gentle with Maelle, whose small horns and lavender eyes are the child's traits rather than evidence of Arcelia's own appearance. (Chapters 112–140, 413–415, 458–459, 510, and 512)

Skills and system abilities

Arcelia identifies herself as a level-600 advanced ice mage and is described before her prolonged incapacitation as a peak Tier-6 fighter. Immediately after the Soul Curse is removed, she can once again form a hovering frost shard, demonstrating restored magic without a named spell or system panel. She later spars Alera across training grounds coated in frost and cold mist, moving through an exchange of ice abilities with precision. The corpus does not provide individual skill names, costs, cooldowns, or a chronological formal advancement, so her exact spell inventory and any change during the three-hundred-year imprisonment remain unknown. (Chapters 112, 414, and 458)

Bond with Eleonora

Eleonora is Arcelia's loyal dragon companion and addresses her as master, princess, or Your Highness. The dragon can enter Arcelia's pet space and is later described as bound to her, but the source does not explain when their bond formed, whether Arcelia can actively summon or command the space while unconscious, or what statistics pass between them. Arcelia does issue Eleonora an order immediately after waking in the temple; Eleonora's refusal is based on the opponents' strength, and the two reunite affectionately after the curse is purged. (Chapters 112, 413–414, and 458)

Relationships

  • Eleonora: Eleonora is Arcelia's devoted dragon companion, not explicitly her sister. She guards the Ice Coffin, begs Alex to save Arcelia, waits through the Soul Curse, and encourages her master to accept the Fox Tribe refuge. (Chapters 112–113, 183–184, and 413–415)
  • Alex Rogue: Alex opens Arcelia's coffin, finds shelter for her, and later removes the Soul Curse. Their relationship grows cautiously from fear and gratitude into trust; only after she moves to Earth does the narration suggest romance, and the epilogue confirms marriage and two children. (Chapters 112–140, 413–415, 458–459, and 509–512)
  • Alera: Alera nurses Arcelia during her long unconsciousness, invites her to stay after recovery, and becomes her ice-magic sparring partner and eventual co-wife. (Chapters 112–140, 414–415, 458, and 510–512)
  • Alice Starfield: Alice helps rescue Arcelia, welcomes her after the curse is removed, and draws her into the family's last embrace before the Games. They later become co-wives and shared parents. (Chapters 112, 413–415, 459, and 510–512)
  • Aurelia: Aurelia accepts Arcelia as a village companion and later answers her fear of exclusion by explicitly calling her a friend with a place in the Earth household. (Chapters 413–415, 458–459, and 510–512)

Items

  • Ice Coffin: Esteban uses this magical prison to confine Arcelia for three hundred years. Opening it wakes her body but does not remove the separate curse embedded in her soul; later narration credits that curse, rather than the coffin itself, with preserving her without aging. (Chapters 112 and 413)
  • Ancient Sentinel Stone Heart: Arcelia selects this rare obsidian crafting core from the spare gear Alex distributes after her recovery. No later use or continued ownership is shown. (Chapter 415)
