Biography

The “genius doctor” deception

Xiao Tiannan faces catastrophe when his son Xiao Luocheng is crippled after challenging Yun Che. Desperate for a cure, he accepts the disguised Yun Che as an unparalleled physician and pours the branch sect's treasures into the treatment. Yun Che exploits that desperation to rob the Medicine Hall and deepen Luocheng's ruin, leaving Tiannan's authority intact in name but humiliated by the stranger he had sought to punish. Appearance and personality

Tiannan has the commanding bearing of a sect master, but concern for his favored son quickly overwhelms his caution. Proud, suspicious of rivals, and accustomed to obedience, he becomes credulous when offered the one outcome he most wants. (Chapters 81–91)

Abilities and cultivation

He is an Earth Profound-level expert and one of New Moon City's strongest institutional leaders. His cultivation and sect forces are dangerous to ordinary youths, though neither helps him penetrate Yun Che's medical disguise and calculated deception. (Chapters 81–91 and 117–122)

Relationships

• Xiao Luocheng is his son and the cause of his desperate bargain.
