Hua Qingying

Hua Qingying is the Sword Immortal of the Abyss, a peak Divine Limit Realm practitioner famed for the Heartless Sword and for a bearing untouched by the mortal world. She serves as the hidden guardian of Hua Caili, allowing the Heaven Breaker Divine Daughter to gain experience while remaining close enough to judge threats that Caili cannot yet understand.

Biography

Guardian in the Abyss

Hua Qingying's reputation predates Yun Che's arrival by generations. As a young Sword Immortal she rejects the courtship of three Divine Sons who later become Divine Regents, having severed worldly desire to pursue the Heartless Sword. By the present era, senior figures such as Dian Jiuzhi greet her with the deference given to a regent, and her name alone is enough to make members of the Dreamweaver Kingdom avoid provoking Caili. She accepts guardianship without softening her discipline, shadowing her niece from the sky while insisting that Caili confront ordinary danger through her own judgment. From concealment, Hua Qingying watches Caili encounter Yun Che in the Helian Empire and later amid abyssal beasts. Yun Che's ability to defeat Divine Masters while displaying Divine Sovereign cultivation repeatedly violates what she knows of the profound way. She does not expose herself merely because he is mysterious; instead she studies his lightning, age, aura, healing, and manipulation of encounters, intervening only when a hidden strike would exceed the lesson Caili chose to face. Her restraint lets Yun Che build a genuine bond with Caili while also ensuring that every contradiction in his identity is witnessed by one of the Abyss's keenest experts. (Chapters 2001–2041)

Hua Qingying is neither deceived by every detail nor able to read Yun Che completely. She recognizes traps intended to draw out greed and notices Caili's growing emotional attachment, yet Yun Che's use of abyssal dust extends his perception beyond even hers and lets him arrange meetings without revealing the method. The resulting contest is largely silent: he tries to guide Caili while concealing his origin, and Hua Qingying weighs the benefit he brings her niece against the danger implied by impossible power. Her later choices continue to place Caili's safety and future above personal pride, leaving her alive and active through the latest Abyssal account. (Chapters 2033–2041 and 2160)

Appearance and personality

Hua Qingying is an exceptionally beautiful woman in blue, with cold eyes and an aura likened to a solitary immortal preserved in a painting. Her sword intent makes eye contact feel like a blade passing through the soul, while her presence can freeze movement and silence those around her before she visibly acts. (Chapters 1961 and 1982)

She is aloof, disciplined, perceptive, and sparing with praise. The Heartless Sword has severed ordinary romantic desire, but it has not made her incapable of attachment: her guardianship of Caili is patient, exacting, and deeply protective. She allows mistakes that can teach, forbids dangers that would only destroy, and watches Yun Che without letting either suspicion or gratitude decide for her too quickly. Abilities and cultivation

Hua Qingying stands at the peak of the Divine Limit Realm and is regarded as one of its greatest living practitioners. Her sword intent can halt movement, cut from concealment, suppress souls, and extend across distances ordinary Divine Masters cannot meaningfully challenge. She identifies disguised races, measures bone age, reads subtle changes in profound energy, and follows high-level battles without revealing her position. Her Heartless Sword trades mortal attachment for exceptional purity of sword will. That focus once lets her defeat or reject the era's leading Divine Sons and later makes her a standard against which Divine Regents are measured. Her senses are still not omniscient: Yun Che's ability to merge perception with abyssal dust exceeds her ordinary range, and the Sacred Body, elemental seeds, and concealed identities give him qualities she cannot classify from aura alone. Relationships

• Hua Caili: Her niece, charge, and emotional exception. Hua Qingying protects Caili from afar, gives her room to mature, and judges Yun Che chiefly through the effect he has on her safety and choices.
• Yun Che: She observes him first as an impossible lower-realm anomaly and then as the man drawing close to Caili. Their contest of perception remains cautious because both recognize that open hostility could harm Caili.
• Hua Fuchen: Caili's father and a central power of Heaven Breaker. Hua Qingying's guardianship carries his trust while retaining her independent judgment.
• Dian Jiuzhi: One of the former Divine Sons who sought her affection. In the present he addresses her with deep respect and recognizes that her sword and status remain beyond ordinary rivalry.

Items

Hua Qingying's defining possession is her unnamed sword, the focus of the Heartless Sword path and the source through which her intent is most often perceived.
