Central Ruins ambition

Beihan Chu returns from Nine Lights Heavenly Palace as Northern Chill City's celebrated prodigy and uses the Central Ruins Battle to display the superiority of his new backing. He desires Nanhuang Chanyi and expects local powers to yield automatically. Yun Che's disguised presence destroys that script: Beihan Chu's threats escalate, his patrons fail to control the situation, and his attempt to impose himself ends in death. Appearance and personality

Beihan Chu is polished, youthful, and carries the confident air of someone elevated above his native realm. His courtesy is conditional; rejection exposes possessiveness, contempt for lower-realm cultivators, and dependence on the prestige of Nine Lights Heavenly Palace. (Chapters 1557–1563)

Abilities and cultivation

Training in an upper star realm makes him far stronger than most Nether Ruins youths and gives him access to Nine Lights techniques. That advantage is social as well as martial, but it is meaningless against Yun Che and Qianye Ying’er in disguise. (Chapters 1587–1625)
