Biography
Study under Zyna
Flora first appears with Livia in Zyna’s household after Eryk returns to Telha. The aspirants are learning magic while living under the pressure of the Empire’s expectations and Zyna’s demanding instruction. Eryk sees them in daily routines as they study, clean, and visit the alchemy lab, and gradually becomes someone they can speak with outside formal lessons. (Chapters 186–193)
Flora and Livia grow more confident in their training and discuss their progress with Eryk. He gives them practical help and food, while Zyna pushes them to improve their spell forms and prepare for the role they may be asked to play. Flora is enthusiastic about learning, but the plans around her and Livia are also shaped by powerful people who see their abilities as useful resources. (Chapters 192–198)
Preparing for field work
When the aspirants are selected for a dangerous expedition, Flora receives instruction on what to expect and how to contribute. The assignment takes the students away from the relative safety of the College and places their healing skills in a military context. Eryk witnesses their preparation and considers how to help them survive the work ahead. (Chapters 195–199)
Appearance and personality
Flora is a blonde mage aspirant who is eager to learn and increasingly willing to speak up. She and Livia are often seen together, but the text shows Flora as an individual student with her own questions and reactions. (Chapters 186–194)
