Felix

Felix is one of the soldiers who introduces Eryk to the rhythms and rough humor of Legion life. He remains part of the company through its early missions and dangerous travel, contributing as a companion and fighting soldier. (Chapters 7–12, 20–26)

Biography

Eryk’s first days in the Legion

Felix is among the soldiers who meet Eryk when he joins the Legion. He jokes about how quickly the new recruit might finish his physical test, then helps him through the exhausting first days of training. Eryk’s early impressions of the barracks and the company are shaped by soldiers such as Felix, who make the military environment feel like a lived-in community rather than a formal institution. (Chapters 7–12)

Felix takes part in the company’s early expeditions and returns to the city with the others. He works alongside Eryk during the group’s missions and helps maintain the ordinary routines that let the soldiers move as a unit. The chapters show him as a reliable member of the company, though they do not give him an independent personal storyline. (Chapters 20–26, 34–40)

The city crisis

When the company is caught up in the conflict around the city, Felix serves alongside Brutus and the other soldiers. He helps hold the company’s positions and responds to the dangers around Castile’s villa and the city’s defenses. His role is part of the group effort that carries the soldiers through the crisis. (Chapters 44–61)

Appearance and personality

Felix is presented through his exchanges with other soldiers: he is sociable, quick to joke, and comfortable in the company’s rough banter. He also follows orders and remains with the group when the company is under threat. (Chapters 7–8, 26, 44)
