Biography

A young griffin joins the party

Baldo is introduced as a young griffin being raised by Raelia. His size and needs shape the party’s travel plans: he is still growing, needs food, and is not yet treated as a fully trained flying mount. Raelia is protective of his training and care, while the others learn how to accommodate him on the road. (Chapters 271, 276–281)

Baldo quickly becomes curious about the people around him. He chirps when he wants food and follows the party through camps and inns. His young age makes him playful and demanding, but he also listens to Raelia and begins learning how to move safely with the group. (Chapters 281–286, 291–292)

As the party’s journey continues, Baldo’s growth makes him more useful. He can carry Raelia for short flights and is considered as a scout during dungeon exploration. A later injury to his wing is healed, allowing him to remain with the group as the party continues its travels. (Chapters 311, 321–323, 326–342)

Appearance and personality

Baldo is a young griffin who grows substantially during the journey. The text shows him as vocal, food-motivated, and closely attached to Raelia. He chirps when he wants food and reacts to unfamiliar situations with the instincts of a young flying predator. (Chapters 276, 281, 292, 321)

Abilities

Baldo is a griffin capable of flight and, as he grows, of carrying Raelia for short trips. His ability to scout from the air gives the party a possible advantage when choosing routes or exploring dangerous terrain. His wing is injured during an encounter, but it is healed before the party resumes traveling. (Chapters 276, 326, 332, 336)
