Clear Sky
Clear Sky is one of nine Origins treasures refined by Ancestral Master Archean Eon and sustained by Archean Mountain's Heaven and Earth Great Hall. Meng Chuan chooses its fixed but powerful domain as his principal sect-issued defense during the demon war.
History
A borrowed domain protects the reconnaissance Godfiend
Meng Chuan selects Clear Sky alongside the Bloodblade Disc because its defensive domain can protect him during the crucial years of underground reconnaissance. The treasure appears as a faint cyan lightning bead, can shrink into his dantian, and requires only a small amount of Quintessential Essence to call Archean Mountain's power down around him. Like the sect's other generational treasures, it is expected to return rather than become unrestricted personal property. (Chapters 348–351)
The Three Terminal Formation demonstrates the weakness of that external power source. Its seal prevents Archean Mountain's power from descending, so Clear Sky initially fails to activate. The formation cannot sever the treasure's intrinsic connection completely, however, and the sect uses that connection to locate Meng Chuan; once the trap collapses, Clear Sky protects him while he pursues Yellow Oscillate. (Chapters 359–362)
During Nine Abyss's attack, Clear Sky forms its barriers around Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue. A World Power-charged punch eventually shatters all three layers, but each functions as one obstruction in their combined defense. The barriers' failure is not described as destruction of the bead, and no later transfer of the treasure is established. (Chapters 400–403)
Abilities and properties
Clear Sky draws on the Heaven and Earth Great Hall rather than storing its full power internally. Activation produces a corporeal cyan lightning fog across roughly five kilometers and three concentrated lightning barriers around the wielder. More than half of its power is assigned to the inner barriers, while the wider domain weakens enemies as they cross its layers. (Chapter 349)
The borrowed power creates an Imperial Lord-level domain with very low burden on the user. At its intended level, a peak fifth Firmament demon monarch cannot penetrate it and Demon Sage Nine Abyss would be heavily suppressed. Its output is fixed, though, so it does not grow with Meng Chuan and can be overwhelmed by an attack near the Imperial Lord threshold. (Chapters 348–349 and 402–403)
The treasure works only while it can reach its homeworld power source. A formation that blocks descending external force can suppress activation, and Origins treasures cannot function normally outside the human world or in the World Gap. Conversely, Archean Mountain can determine Clear Sky's location through its persistent connection even when its power is blocked. (Chapters 359–361)
Owners and wielders
| Holder | Capacity | Source-grounded relationship to Clear Sky |
|---|---|---|
| Archean Mountain | Owner and source of power | The sect maintains Clear Sky through the Heaven and Earth Great Hall, can locate it, and expects its generational treasures to return. (Chapters 349, 361, and 394) |
| Meng Chuan | Entrusted wielder | He chooses the bead, stores it in his dantian, and uses its domain and barriers during major assassination attempts. (Chapters 349–362 and 400–403) |
