Realm Ancestor

Realm Ancestor is the oldest living Seventh Tribulation Eminence when Meng Chuan first meets him and one of only three contemporary Essence Soul Seventh Tribulation Eminences. A white-haired elder who observes spacetime through a fishing lake, he uses his final era to identify promising successors, preserve cultivation resources, and investigate threats that younger powers cannot yet see. His gifts materially aid Meng Chuan, but he consistently describes them as guidance rather than a path that can substitute for Meng Chuan's own cultivation. (Chapters 628–752)

Biography

A final-era meeting and Eternal Road

Near the end of a life exceeding 180,000 years, Realm Ancestor learns through the Cang Alliance Space that a young Sixth Tribulation cultivator has reentered Fiend Mountain. He connects his fishing rod to distant spacetime and pulls Meng Chuan's protected Essence Soul avatar from Thousand Mountain Star into his lakeside domain. Rather than demanding Fiend Mountain's secret, he explains the dangers of its epiphany and possession paths, the willpower thresholds measured by its path of the mind, and the reason contemporary Seventh Tribulation Eminences have suppressed wider access. His intervention turns Meng Chuan's accidental discovery into informed cultivation. (Chapters 628–629)

Realm Ancestor judges Meng Chuan a possible future Seventh Tribulation Eminence and gives him a golden leaf containing Eternal Road, an Essence Soul Eighth Tribulation legacy collected from a predecessor rather than created by Realm Ancestor himself. He asks only that Meng Chuan help his juniors and Eternal Mountain Realm if an appropriate opportunity arises. His most important warning accompanies the gift: every Essence Soul cultivator who reaches the Eighth Tribulation realm must create a personal path, so even a complete predecessor legacy should be studied rather than followed without deviation. Meng Chuan later uses Eternal Road's Sea of Spacetime structure to expose flaws in his will and as one basis for his own formulation. (Chapters 630–634)

Patronage and succession

Realm Ancestor's sponsorship expands through personal recommendations. When Hall Lord White Avian seeks a cure for an alien Essence Soul injury, Realm Ancestor examines the corruption, identifies why ordinary Seventh Tribulation methods cannot remove it, and recommends Meng Chuan as the most promising future Essence Soul healer. The recommendation earns Meng Chuan a place in White Avian Hall's cultivation system while also serving Realm Ancestor's longer concern: his own death will expose Eternal Mountain Realm, Yu Xi, Feng Xiao, and other dependents to rivals who were restrained only by his presence. (Chapters 641–642)

After Meng Chuan becomes an Essence Soul Seventh Tribulation Eminence, Realm Ancestor gives him a personally recorded book that compiles known paths and failures at the next realm. He is candid about his own limit: although his will has reached Fiend Mountain's peak standard, he has neither completed the necessary temporal law nor created an Eighth Tribulation Essence Soul formulation, and his remaining lifespan is insufficient. He then transfers control of Planet Blackjade, his most valuable cultivation resource, so that it can support a viable successor instead of being seized after his death. This is patronage with explicit succession logic, not a claim that Meng Chuan's later achievements belong to him. (Chapters 711–714)

Fiend Mountain and the final conflicts

Realm Ancestor's broad observation network detects a pattern among thousands of past half-step worlds: 132 have vanished without leaving ordinary historical evidence. He convenes the era's leading cultivators and presents the correlation connecting those disappearances to Celestial Thearch Myriad Star, while White Avian supplies independent confirmation and challenges the suspect to swear a karmic oath. Realm Ancestor cannot recover the concealed attack scenes or compel the oath, so the accusation rests on accumulated evidence and Myriad Star's refusal rather than on omniscient vision. (Chapters 724–726)

When another controlled forbidden creature consumes Meng Sha Realm, Realm Ancestor joins Meng Chuan in locating the hidden attacker. His Heart Lake's Shadow suppresses the creature's consciousness while Meng Chuan captures it, and he later supports confiscating the stolen resources instead of allowing them to return to Myriad Star. Realm Ancestor remains involved as White Avian's world-sealing plan unfolds and is present after Myriad Star's final death, but the corpus does not credit him with creating the seal or delivering the killing blow. At his last appearance, he is alive and able to sense the distant energy tide from Meng Chuan's advancement, still near the end of his natural lifespan. (Chapters 732–752)

Appearance and personality

Realm Ancestor appears as an ordinary white-haired elder with long white eyebrows, usually in white robes. He is repeatedly shown sitting beside a lake in a bamboo forest with a fishing rod, while images from different regions of spacetime move beneath the water. His lack of visible grandeur contrasts with the effortless way he pulls a Sixth Tribulation Essence Soul avatar through protected, distant spacetime. The corpus gives no alternate battle form or elaborate regalia, and his simple appearance remains consistent through his later meetings. (Chapters 628–630, 641, 711)

He is amiable, direct, and unusually clear about his own shortcomings. Realm Ancestor speaks freely about Fiend Mountain's dangers, admits that popular rumors exaggerate his closeness to the Eighth Tribulation realm, and tells Meng Chuan not to mistake inherited guidance for a complete personal path. His generosity is purposeful rather than detached: he hopes a younger expert will protect his homeworld, juniors, and resources after his death. In public crises, the same patience becomes investigative rigor; he gathers patterns over many worlds and calls peers together before making an accusation. (Chapters 628–630, 711–714, 724–726)

Abilities and cultivation

Essence Soul Seventh Tribulation cultivation

Realm Ancestor is an Essence Soul Seventh Tribulation Eminence whose Essence Soul avatars allow him to oversee widely separated domains and resources. His cultivation gives him overwhelming control over a Sixth Tribulation avatar, substantial resilience, and the ability to deploy consciousness-based techniques at great distance. He has also reached the peak of Fiend Mountain's path of the mind, establishing willpower at the Physical Body Eighth Tribulation threshold. That measurement does not make him an Eighth Tribulation cultivator: the Essence Soul path requires a still greater transformation, and he explicitly lacks both complete temporal-law mastery and a finished Eighth Tribulation formulation. (Chapters 628–630, 711–714)

His latest confirmed level remains Seventh Tribulation. Realm Ancestor believes that even ten times his remaining lifespan would not guarantee advancement, and he prepares for death rather than presenting a hidden breakthrough as likely. His avatars and reputation can deter rivals while he lives, but they cannot make his dependents permanently secure, which is why he redistributes legacies and Planet Blackjade. The corpus shows no eighth heavenly tribulation, no Eighth Tribulation Essence Soul World, and no later reversal of this stated limit. (Chapters 628–630, 711–714, 752)

Spacetime fishing and observation

Realm Ancestor's unnamed fishing method connects his rod and lake to remote regions of spacetime. Images of cultivators appear beneath the surface; by lifting the rod, he can pull a selected Essence Soul avatar from a protected chamber across an immense distance, and by returning Meng Chuan through the lake he restores him to the original location. The method combines observation, targeting, and forced transport, but the corpus does not explain whether the lake and rod are innate projections, mystic treasures, or parts of a larger formation. That internal mechanism therefore remains uncertain. (Chapters 628–630, 637)

The same broad spacetime perception supports investigation. Realm Ancestor monitors more than three thousand vanished half-step worlds, recognizes repeated absences, and notices when a target's surrounding spacetime has been isolated. Concealment remains a genuine counter: Myriad Star can erase or hide the relevant history well enough that Realm Ancestor cannot display a direct scene of the crimes. Realm Ancestor must therefore combine long-term records, disappearance timing, peer testimony, and karmic oaths. His ability is best understood as exceptionally wide evidence gathering, not perfect knowledge of every hidden event. (Chapters 724–726)

Heart Lake's Shadow

Heart Lake's Shadow is Realm Ancestor's named Essence Soul mystic technique. When used against the forbidden creature that consumed Meng Sha Realm, it drags the target's consciousness into a deep mental lake, leaving its external body much less capable of resistance. Even the unusually strong creature only barely remains lucid, which gives Meng Chuan the opening needed to capture it and recover the transported world treasures. The technique attacks awareness rather than directly destroying the physical body and is most effective here as part of coordinated suppression. (Chapters 732–735)

The encounter also shows limits. Heart Lake's Shadow does not by itself kill or permanently seal the target, and Realm Ancestor acts alongside Meng Chuan while White Avian blocks Myriad Star's intervention. The corpus provides no activation cost, range measurement, or proof that the technique can overcome a peer half-step Eighth Tribulation cultivator. Its representative use supports strong consciousness control against a top forbidden creature, but broader claims about irresistible hypnosis or universal mind reading would exceed the supplied evidence. (Chapters 732–735)

Instruction, legacies, and succession planning

Realm Ancestor has collected multiple Essence Soul Eighth Tribulation legacies and can identify which guidance suits a younger Essence Soul cultivator. Eternal Road forms the user's Essence Soul into a Sea of Spacetime whose internal pressure continually tests willpower; failure causes the structure to collapse, while sustained use exposes personal flaws. Realm Ancestor transmits the legacy through a single-use golden leaf, but he neither creates the formulation nor performs its cultivation for Meng Chuan. Its benefits and risks belong to the predecessor's method and the recipient's practice. (Chapters 630–634)

His later book works differently: it is Realm Ancestor's own record of historical Essence Soul Eighth Tribulation cases, advancement requirements, and his accumulated judgments. Together with Planet Blackjade and personal introductions, these resources show his strategic ability to build a succession network. Their limitation is deliberate. Knowledge, favorable environments, and patrons can reduce avoidable mistakes, but they cannot supply the temporal law, personal formulation, will transformation, or heavenly-tribulation success required for advancement. Realm Ancestor's latest role is therefore that of an expert guide and steward, not an unseen source of Meng Chuan's power. (Chapters 641–642, 711–714)

Relationships

  • Meng Chuan: Realm Ancestor identifies Meng Chuan's potential, explains Fiend Mountain, gives him Eternal Road and later cultivation records, and transfers Planet Blackjade to him. He also asks Meng Chuan to help protect Eternal Mountain Realm and two juniors when circumstances permit.
  • Hall Lord White Avian: An old friend who trusts Realm Ancestor to examine his otherwise incurable Essence Soul injury. Realm Ancestor cannot remove it, but recommends Meng Chuan as a future healer and later works with White Avian against Myriad Star.
  • Celestial Thearch Myriad Star: The half-step Eighth Tribulation cultivator whom Realm Ancestor identifies as the common factor in the destruction of 132 worlds. Realm Ancestor exposes the pattern publicly and helps stop a later attempt to consume Meng Sha Realm.
  • Yu Xi and Feng Xiao: Two juniors whom Realm Ancestor has protected and asks Meng Chuan to assist after his death. The request is intentionally conditional and does not bind Meng Chuan to unlimited protection.

Items

No distinct qualifying personal inventory is assigned to Realm Ancestor in the item manifest. The single-use Eternal Road leaf and his cultivation record are transferred to Meng Chuan, while the fishing rod and spacetime lake are not established as personal treasures rather than projections or formation components.
