Blood Master Command Medallion
The Blood Master Command Medallion is a blood-colored succession token carried by Song Junwan during the contest for Middle Peak's blood master position. When a patriarch-level seal prevents her from reaching the blood crystal, she sends the medallion through the barrier to Bai Xiaochun, then operating as Nightcrypt, and orders him to become blood master instead. The item is documented in only this one scene; its origin, formal investiture function, and fate after Bai catches it are not stated. (Chapter 257)
History
Transfer on the Ancient Blood Path
Near the end of the Ancient Blood Path, Xuemei uses three violet sealing marks attributed to Patriarch Limitless to trap Song Junwan outside the heart cavity containing the blood crystal. Song produces the medallion, whose presence twists and distorts the surrounding seal. The barrier appears likely to collapse after the time needed for an incense stick to burn, but Xuemei is already about to enter, making that response too slow to preserve Song's chance. (Chapter 257)
Song therefore throws the medallion to Bai and tells him to take her place in the succession contest. The medallion passes directly through the seal and vibrates joyfully in Bai's hand, seeming to offer him ultimate approval. Bai then races toward the archway. The subsequent movement of the blood crystal is not explicitly attributed to the medallion, and the scene never states that possession of the token alone confers the blood master office. (Chapter 257)
Abilities and properties
-
Seal interaction: Merely producing the medallion distorts the patriarch-level sealing marks around Song Junwan and appears capable of collapsing them after a delay. It does not break them quickly enough for her immediate need. (Chapter 257)
-
Barrier passage: The medallion itself passes directly through the active seal when Song throws it to Bai. The source does not establish whether it can cross every seal or only one related to the blood master succession. (Chapter 257)
-
Responsive approval: In Bai's hand, the medallion vibrates as though joyful and as though granting ultimate approval. The narration describes this as an impression rather than defining a measurable authentication mechanism. (Chapter 257)
-
Unspecified succession role: Song calls it her blood master command medallion and entrusts it to Bai while directing him to become blood master. No additional chapter explains whether it authorizes entry, proves candidacy, records approval, or performs another formal function. (Chapter 257)
