Song Clan Patriarch is one of the Blood Stream Sect's eight patriarchs and the senior power behind the Song Clan. He supports the emergence of a Blood Lord, adopts Nightcrypt as a son, and later serves the merged River-Defying Sect. (Chapters 211–330 and 879–937)

Biography

Patron of Nightcrypt and sect patriarch

The patriarch first receives the Spirit Stream delegation as one of the Blood Stream Sect's Nascent Soul leaders. He belongs to the faction willing to avoid war and watches Middle Peak closely for the emergence of a Blood Lord. Impressed by Nightcrypt, he supplies medicinal plants and powerful treasures, gives him a command medallion permitting broad freedom so long as he does not betray the sect, and formally treats him as an adopted son. When Nightcrypt is revealed as Bai Xiaochun, the patriarch still attacks an enemy who tries to kill him and then works beside Patriarch Ironwood during the sects' merger. (Chapters 211–289)

He later joins the River-Defying Sect's Nascent Soul forces. Much later, a Song Clan legacy treasure he gave Song Que protects Song Que from lethal smoke in the Deadmire, showing his continued effect through clan preparations. The corpus does not directly state whether the patriarch survives the eventual destruction of the Heavenspan Realm. (Chapters 312–330, 879, and 937)

Appearance and personality

He is described as sitting rigidly and radiating the sensation of a vicious wild beast. Stern and intimidating, he is also politically flexible and fiercely protective of people he accepts into his clan. (Chapters 211–223 and 281–289)

Abilities and cultivation

As a Nascent Soul patriarch, he can enter battles at that level, wield sword qi, and fight from a blood-colored banner surrounded by blood clouds and symbols. The source does not name his core cultivation method. (Chapters 218, 278, 284, and 330)
