Gongsun Wan'er is the original Spirit Stream Sect chosen whose beauty, phoenix, and illusion techniques make her one of the north bank's leading disciples. She dies in the Fallen Sword Abyss; the later being using her body is Ghostmother's banesoul, not Gongsun Wan'er continuing to act. (Chapters 86–160 and 877–878)

Biography

North-Bank Chosen and Fallen Sword Rivalry

Gongsun Wan'er rises alongside her brother Gongsun Yun as one of Irispetal Peak's great chosen. In the north–south competition she defeats opponents with minimal movement, using her seven-colored phoenix and illusions, though Bai Xiaochun's extreme defense frustrates her attacks. The Fallen Sword Abyss places her in repeated competition with Pill Stream illusion specialist Zhao Rou. Neither accepts the other's collection of earthstring energy, and their seventh battle leaves Wan'er pale and her phoenix badly injured. Zhao Rou eventually turns her into a poison puppet, after which Wan'er disappears. Later testimony establishes that the original Gongsun Wan'er was killed in the abyss. All post-possession schemes and cultivation belong to Ghostmother's severed-arm banesoul rather than to her. (Chapters 86–92, 138–159, and 877–878)

Appearance and personality

Wan'er is repeatedly described as spectacularly or exquisitely beautiful. She can appear cool and effortless in competition, yet shows disappointment when denied a desired rival and fierce persistence against Zhao Rou. Her gentle amusement with Bruiser reveals a warmer side not visible in formal battles. (Chapters 86–92, 138, and 153)

Abilities and cultivation

She controls birds of prey, most notably a seven-colored phoenix that exhales seven-colored mist. Her illusion magic is compared with Zhao Rou's and can be layered into apparently ordinary-looking exchanges where a mistake would be fatal. The corpus does not give the techniques' names, exact mechanics, or her final cultivation realm before death. (Chapters 86–92 and 142–153)
