Feng Chen

Feng Chen is a northern deva whose attraction to Du Lingfei sharpens his hostility toward Bai Xiaochun and drives the restrictive covenant that ultimately harms his own sect. (Chapters 955–973)

Biography

The Three-Point Covenant

Feng Chen meets Bai Xiaochun with immediate violence, attacking even after Du Lingfei orders him to stop. He then helps contain the unwanted visitor through a three-point covenant designed to prevent Bai from leaving the Cloud Order, concocting medicine, or absorbing northern energy. Feng is proud of the arrangement because he expects it to torment a romantic rival, but Bai exploits its wording and turns cultivation experiments into escalating disasters for the sect. When challenged, Feng cannot identify an actual breach and must endure the consequences of his own proposal. Frustration finally drives him to attack in a crimson lightning form with mid-Deva power. Bai overcomes him and burns his nascent divinity badly enough that he retreats into the crystal coffin for refuge. Feng later emerges alive but bedraggled, and Du Lingfei observes that he has become too afraid of Bai to trouble her while Bai is present. (Chapters 955–973)

Appearance and personality

Feng Chen is described as handsome, but the source supplies no further stable physical details. He is formal toward senior figures and Du Lingfei, yet jealous, proud, and quick to violence toward Bai Xiaochun. He can devise restrictive rules, but his inability to anticipate literal compliance makes that cleverness self-defeating. His fear after defeat is explicit; his later outlook and appearance are not supplied. (Chapters 955–973)

Abilities and cultivation

Feng Chen is a deva and explicitly radiates mid-Deva Realm fluctuations during his last direct attack. He can transform into or surround himself with a crimson lightning-bolt form, travel at extreme speed, and strike with enough force to threaten another deva. Bai Xiaochun's counterattack leaves Feng's nascent divinity burning, establishing both the technique's failure and his vulnerability to superior force. The art's name, origin, activation cost, and recovery are not explained. (Chapter 969)
