Biography
Expedition ally and imperial celestial
Chen first visits Bai in his capacity as a dynasty celestial. During the expedition for sovereign flesh, he works alongside Gu Tianjun, Sima Yunhua, Celestial Aged Spirit, and Bai. When Bai and Sima risk capture, Chen hesitates but turns back, recognizing both the immediate danger and the Saint-Emperor's likely response to abandonment. He contributes his recovered sovereign flesh to the group's escape and remains part of the uneasy alliance that survives the region. (Chapters 1058–1163)
Later discussion identifies Prince Ur-Demon as Chen's former apprentice, whose betrayal transferred his loyalty to the Vile-Emperor Dynasty. Chen witnesses Bai's elevation after the Vile-Emperor's defeat, offers formal greetings, and is counted among those who owe Bai a favor. He remains alive at his last appearance; the corpus does not describe a later mission or breakthrough. (Chapters 1195–1220)

No stable detailed appearance is supplied. Chen is cautious, status-aware, and initially hesitant under extreme danger, but capable of choosing collective survival over immediate self-preservation. (Chapters 1161–1163)
