Saint-Emperor

The Saint-Emperor is the archaean ruler of the Saint-Emperor Dynasty and a descendant of the Saint-Ancestor. He offers the scattered people of the Heavenspan Realm refuge while trying to absorb them into his own state, making him both patron and political constraint to Bai Xiaochun. Although initially cautious and self-serving, he ultimately joins Bai in defending the Eternal Immortal Domains and accepts the limits of becoming a half-sovereign so he can help oppose the Mortal Renegade. Biography

Asylum in Exchange for a Blood Tribute

When the Heavenspan Realm shatters, the Saint-Emperor Dynasty broadcasts promises of aid to its refugees and presents itself as the only force able to resist the Vile-Emperor Dynasty. The Giant Ghost King correctly judges that asylum will still require leverage, so he and Bai Xiaochun bring the captured celestial Ghostmother as a blood tribute. The Saint-Emperor supports their approach by projecting enough power toward the border to deter the Vile-Emperor from intercepting them. (Chapters 1028, 1036–1037, 1044, and 1048–1049)

The tribute gives the Saint-Emperor a valuable hostage he can exchange for disputed territory without breaking his agreements with his rival. He rewards the Giant Ghost King with a prefecture and names Bai Duke Heavenspan, but privately intends to absorb the refugees into his dynasty rather than allow Bai to establish an independent Heavenspan power base. His warmth and generosity are therefore calculated: the offices protect the refugees, yet Bai's own title is designed to keep him visible, honored, and politically contained in the capital. Containing King Heavenspan

The Saint-Emperor underestimates the disruption Bai can cause inside the capital. Disasters involving the heavenly dragonfish, lotus seeds, and lotus roots turn his guarded hospitality into mounting frustration. Once Bai reaches the Celestial Realm, the emperor promotes him to King Heavenspan but also assigns him to explore the damaged fan. The dangerous mission removes him from the capital and serves the emperor's investigation into a black fragment that fell from the Mortal Renegade's body. (Chapters 1057–1080)

Despite that suspicion, the Saint-Emperor repeatedly treats Bai as a member of his dynasty when rival forces threaten him. During the contest for a growing sovereign clone, he appears between Bai and the Vile-Emperor and declares that only one person can ultimately rule the people of Heavenspan, implicitly supporting Bai against Daoist Heavenspan. At the same time, he and his rival knowingly allow the clone to consume much of an immortal domain in hopes that its body will reveal a route into the Sovereign Realm. His willingness to protect Bai does not prevent him from sacrificing strangers to his own cultivation ambitions. (Chapters 1149–1152)

A Third Emperor and an Unmasked Enemy

After Bai founds the Arch-Emperor Dynasty, the Saint-Emperor must accommodate a third power. He watches the confrontation that reveals Bai's Archaean cultivation, then arrives when Bai tears away the Vile-Emperor's disguise. The Saint-Emperor sees that the reigning Vile-Emperor is actually a lizard clone of the Mortal Renegade and recognizes how the imposter had obstructed inspection of the sovereign's seal. He then destroys the clone's infectious locusts while Bai pursues its fleeing body. (Chapters 1243–1248 and 1254–1258)

The discovery ends his concern with territorial advantage. He explains the three bloodline sealing strips on the Mortal Renegade and immediately accompanies Bai to repair the two that remain. The Saint-Emperor enters the strip tied to the Saint-Ancestor and uses his own bloodline to restore it, but a projection of the Saint-Ancestor overwhelms him and forces him out. His failure breaks the strip completely, revealing that the Mortal Renegade's apparent struggle was also a trap. (Chapters 1259–1261)

Choosing to Defend the Eternal Immortal Domains

The Saint-Emperor continues working with Bai after the failed seals. They search the Eternal River for the Eternal Mother and learn that a direct sovereign path remains uncertain. When Bai chooses to pursue a new route, the Saint-Emperor accepts the Eternal Mother's offered power and becomes a half-sovereign. He understands that this choice sacrifices some of his future potential, but makes it so the world will have another defender if the Mortal Renegade awakens before Bai succeeds. (Chapters 1272–1278)

That power lets him intervene when Daoist Heavenspan attacks the world's defenses. The Eternal Mother's sigil and strength flow through him, allowing him to counter the Devil-Sun and Demon-Moon and fight beside Song Que. Daoist Heavenspan's Mortal-Renegade techniques seriously wound him, yet he rescues the exhausted Song Que after their final collision and witnesses their enemy turn to ash. He survives the Mortal Renegade's awakening and the final crisis. (Chapters 1285–1291)

The Saint-Emperor Dynasty remains one of the world's major powers in the restored peace. With the Mortal Renegade gone and the Eternal Mother recovering, the limitation that once doomed him to remain a half-sovereign is no longer final; the closing account states that he again has hope of reaching a higher level. It does not confirm that he has completed another breakthrough. (Chapter 1313)

Appearance and personality

The Saint-Emperor is primarily described through his imperial bearing rather than a fixed catalog of features. He rules from the Dragon Throne, often presents a warm gaze and voice to his court, and can let that expression fall away to reveal cold scrutiny and overwhelming cultivation pressure. He is said to resemble the human disguise of the Vile-Emperor, though he appears less cold, callous, and domineering than his rival. (Chapters 1055–1057, 1079–1080, and 1149)

He is politically cautious, outwardly benevolent, and frequently hypocritical. His offer of refuge genuinely protects Heavenspan survivors, but he intends to dissolve their separate identity into his dynasty; he rewards Bai while limiting his authority, then sends him away when his presence becomes inconvenient. He can also make ruthless calculations in pursuit of the Sovereign Realm. When the Mortal Renegade's threat becomes undeniable, however, he sets those habits aside, risks himself without hesitation, and accepts a constrained future for the sake of the people he rules. Abilities and cultivation

Archaean authority and resurrection

The Saint-Emperor reaches the Archaean Realm after finding an ancient palace drifting in the void. His breakthrough ends a period in which the stronger Vile-Emperor Dynasty had nearly defeated his own. As an archaean, his pressure can transform the sky, and he can open a holy-light passage from Saint-Emperor City to the damaged fan. His control of the dynasty's natural law and faith also enables him to restore a celestial from that celestial's Daoseed, although resurrection drains the archaean and leaves the resurrected person permanently weaker. His combat methods include holy light, moonlight, lotus manifestations, and an ancient-moon sigil that serves as a life-essence treasure. The sigil helps him break the barrier around the Mortal Renegade, while moonlight and lotuses clear the hostile projections inside the Saint-Ancestor's sealing passage. These attacks do not make him invulnerable: the projected Saint-Ancestor defeats him, and Daoist Heavenspan's externally empowered techniques later wound him severely. Celestial Pills and imperial resources

The Saint-Emperor is an accomplished medicine concocter who has produced a limited stock of Celestial Pills. A pill gives a celestial a stated chance to break through within the Celestial Realm, making it powerful enough to motivate his highest subordinates. He offers one after the fight with the growing sovereign clone, but the corpus does not show him using the pill personally or establish that it can create an archaean. (Chapter 1151)

Half-sovereign empowerment

The Eternal Mother can raise the Saint-Emperor from Archaean to half-sovereign because he carries the Saint-Ancestor's bloodline. The granted sigil lets him channel her strength and oppose Daoist Heavenspan's similarly external empowerment. This is a deliberate compromise rather than an independent Sovereign breakthrough: the Saint-Emperor initially gives up some potential by accepting it, and only the Eternal Mother's later recovery restores hope that he may advance beyond that state. Bai Xiaochun

Their relationship begins as a wary exchange of protection for political submission. The Saint-Emperor honors Bai publicly, tries to contain him privately, and repeatedly grows exasperated by the consequences of keeping him in the capital. Bai's rise to emperor makes them peers and occasional rivals, but the Mortal Renegade's threat turns their cooperation genuine. They expose the imposter Vile-Emperor, attempt the bloodline seals, search for the Eternal Mother, and prepare different cultivation paths toward the same defense of their world. (Chapters 1049–1080, 1149–1152, and 1243–1278)

Vile-Emperor

The Saint-Emperor and the reigning Vile-Emperor sustain a balance based on comparable Archaean strength. They compete for territory and sovereign remains while avoiding a war that would exhaust both dynasties, and they can temporarily cooperate against a common prize or threat. Once the Vile-Emperor is revealed as an imposter clone, the Saint-Emperor abandons that rivalry and helps destroy the consequences of the clone's final attack. (Chapters 1049, 1078–1079, 1149–1152, and 1257–1258)

Daoist Heavenspan

The Saint-Emperor initially knows Daoist Heavenspan as Celestial Du, a powerful new member of the rival dynasty. Their final relationship is direct enmity: Daoist Heavenspan attacks the world's defense formation on behalf of the Mortal Renegade, and the newly empowered Saint-Emperor joins Song Que in stopping him. Although Song Que supplies the decisive personal hatred and final exchange, the Saint-Emperor's intervention and rescue prevent Daoist Heavenspan from reaching his master.
