Xiong Shan

Xiong Shan is a Blaze Dragon Dao deputy dao lord whose pursuit of a perfect sword array makes him both rival and distorted mirror to Han Li. Operating within the Transient Guild under the masked identity Qilin 9, he gathers 1,080 flying swords for the Thousand Edge Spirit Gathering Sword Array and attempts to absorb the essence of Han's bonded Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords. Biography

The Heavenly Sword Tomb

As a Golden Immortal authority in Blaze Dragon Dao, Xiong Shan controls the Heavenly Sword Tomb and spends tens of thousands of years gathering the 1,080 blades required for his array. His pride rests not only on wealth but on refinement and control: he strips swords of prior marks and reduces them to essence for a single collective weapon. Han enters under concealment, finds his missing bonded swords among the collection, and quietly studies the array instead of challenging a superior cultivator directly. (Chapters 2643–2663)

When Xiong begins refining the Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords, all seventy-two answer Han's hidden command, reunite, and reverse the larger array. The backlash wounds Xiong and destroys the undertaking on which he spent his fortune and reputation. Years later, he traps Han in the Infernal Frost Immortal Manor and tries to refine both cultivator and swords into an unmatched weapon, openly framing the attempt as karmic revenge, but Han defeats him and recovers the set. Return under Qi Mozi

Xiong Shan later reappears alive in a younger-looking form beside Qi Mozi, now serving around the Immortal Prison and possessing High Zenith cultivation. He admits that he once planned to remain in seclusion until late High Zenith so he could surpass Han and take revenge, but recognizes the futility of that plan when they meet in Tai Sui. Survival and profit replace open vendetta: he supplies information about Qi Mozi's tracking mark and follows Han because the stronger group offers better odds. (Chapters 3496, 3523–3533)

The apparent truce does not cure his fixation on swords. In the manor he forces his way through a storm of sword qi, suffering horrific bodily destruction while reaching for the Primordial Ancient Sword. Pulling it free releases sealed devilish beings and exposes the coalition to a far larger crisis. Xiong offers an insincere apology while immediately refining the weapon, showing that acquisition still outweighs caution even after his earlier obsession cost him a fortune and a life. Escape from Tai Sui

With the Primordial Ancient Sword, Xiong Shan becomes dangerous enough that other members of the group hesitate to confront him. He continues beside Qi Mozi through the manor while protecting the weapon with law threads, then rides the blade out of the Azure Silk Col as Lei Yuce activates the Dragon Tooth Destruction Array. His speed matches Lei's escape, and the story leaves him alive with the sword rather than resolving his rivalry with Han in a final duel. (Chapters 3550–3586)

Appearance and personality

Xiong Shan is first presented through his rank and abrasive authority, assigning the disguised Han a lowly post after Dao Lord Yun takes the disciple he wanted. Under the Qilin identity he can appear burly and thick-bearded, while his later Tai Sui body is a young man; masks, replacement bodies, and concealment make these descriptions context-dependent. His most stable traits are pride, resentment, acquisitiveness, and intense focus whenever an exceptional sword appears. (Chapters 2643, 2698, 3496, 3542)

He is not incapable of calculation. Xiong hides suspicions, waits years for a favorable opportunity against Han, and later bargains for safety by revealing Qi Mozi's mark. Yet rare swords repeatedly break that discipline. His reckless extraction of the Primordial Ancient Sword releases a sealed threat, and even near dismemberment cannot make him release the hilt, turning his sword devotion into both his greatest technical strength and his central character flaw. Abilities and cultivation

Metal law and sword arrays

Xiong Shan cultivates the Great Destruction Yang Sword Arts and laws of metal. His Thousand Edge Spirit Gathering Sword Array uses 1,080 gathered blades, extracts their sword essence, and combines them into a larger refinement system. Later, his golden spirit domain and hundreds of flying swords produce a circular array whose swordlight forms a golden dragon. His technique emphasizes accumulation and control, contrasting with the responsive spiritual bond between Han and his own sword set. (Chapters 2663–2666, 2899, 3523)

Body refinement and survival

The Golden Arhat Arts grant Xiong Shan formidable physical strength and resilience through a metal-law body-refinement path. His later survival after Han's apparent killing is not fully explained in the immediate battle, so the article should not assign a specific resurrection mechanism. In Tai Sui he also uses a golden mist technique that allows sword qi to pass through his body at the cost of steadily consuming the mist, enabling him to reach the Primordial Ancient Sword despite catastrophic wounds. Primordial Ancient Sword

After seizing the ancient sword, Xiong rapidly circles it with twenty to thirty law threads and begins refinement. The weapon increases his combat threat and serves as an exceptionally fast flying platform during the escape from the Dragon Tooth Array. Its acquisition carries a disastrous consequence: removing it from the altar breaks the surrounding seal and frees ancient devilish beings, a result Xiong acknowledges verbally without showing genuine remorse. Relationships

• Han Li: Xiong tries to refine Han's bonded swords, and Han reverses the Thousand Edge array to save them. Humiliation and financial ruin turn that conflict into a vendetta; Han later defeats him, but Xiong returns at High Zenith and temporarily follows him in Tai Sui for survival.
