Qi Mozi

Qi Mozi is a Great Encompassment time-law cultivator, the master of Chi Rong, and a senior Heavenly Court warden. Once a disciple of Patriarch Miro, he betrays the True Mantra Sect before its destruction and later pursues Han Li for both the Heaven Controlling Vial and the sect's time cultivation arts. His shared affinity with time makes him a particularly dangerous mirror to Han: institutional rank and superior cultivation give him an early advantage, but secrecy, greed, and contempt for weaker allies repeatedly leave him vulnerable to coordinated deception. Biography

Betrayal of the True Mantra Sect

Qi Mozi is first introduced indirectly through a remnant in the True Mantra ruins that urges Han to kill him. Visions and surviving disciples then identify the red-haired cultivator as one of Patriarch Miro's disciples and reveal that he defected to Heavenly Court before the sect's destruction. Rather than accept the True Mantra Sect's attempt to coexist independently, Qi Mozi chooses the stronger institution and helps remove a time-law lineage that Heavenly Court regards as a threat. The betrayal shapes both his authority and his enemies. Chi Rong defends his master's decision as realism, while Immortal Lord Hot Flame and the surviving True Mantra evidence expose it as treachery. Qi Mozi's access to the sect's inheritance makes him a rival claimant to time cultivation rather than an outsider who merely follows orders. His motive therefore combines service to Heavenly Court with personal acquisition: eliminating heirs and taking their techniques consolidates both his institutional position and his own path. Hunt for Han Li and the Eon Pagoda

By the Golden Origin conflicts, Qi Mozi is a Great Encompassment cultivator whose time laws make direct confrontation dangerous even for a pinnacle High Zenith Han. He follows information supplied by subordinates, recognizes Han as the fugitive connected to the vial, and pursues him through contested ruins. The chase is not only an official arrest. Qi Mozi expects to claim the Great Five Elemental Illusion Mantra and other time inheritances for himself, so every escape by Han threatens both his assignment and his private ambition. Inside the Eon Pagoda and Tai Sui manor, Qi Mozi alternately threatens and cooperates with other trapped cultivators according to immediate need. His position as Immortal Prison Chief Warden gives him knowledge and authority, while his Great Encompassment time spirit domain can suppress movement across a vast area. Yet the same confidence leads him to treat allies and captives as pieces. Han exploits competing interests among Qu Lin, the pagoda prisoners, and Heavenly Court forces, preventing Qi Mozi from converting raw superiority into secure control of the Eon Divine Lamp or the vial. Defeat through coordinated deception

Qi Mozi finally believes he has trapped Han and burns the apparent captive with golden time flames. The target is an illusion created through cooperation between Han and Gan Jiuzhen, whose reincarnation laws and deception distort Qi Mozi's perception long enough for the counterattack to succeed. His physical body is destroyed, showing that even a superior time cultivator can be defeated when opponents combine incompatible law powers and exploit his certainty that he has already won. The defeat is severe but not a confirmed death. Qi Mozi's surviving essence returns to report failure and remains fixated on recovering the Heaven Controlling Vial and the Great Five Elemental Illusion Mantra. A higher Heavenly Court figure keeps him assigned to the pursuit and promises a Heavenly Fire Holy Lotus Flower so he can forge a new body. His latest real position is therefore diminished but active: deprived of his former body, still backed by the institution he chose over his sect, and still pursuing the reward that caused him to underestimate collective resistance. Abilities and cultivation

Qi Mozi is a Great Encompassment cultivator who specializes in the laws of time. His formal cultivation, law threads, and Heavenly Court resources place him beyond Han in direct power during their main conflict. He combines time suppression with fire-associated treasures and institutional knowledge gained as Chief Warden. His limitations are strategic rather than trivial: other law domains can interfere with his control, powerful formations constrain him, and coordinated illusion and reincarnation methods can misdirect his perception. Time-law cultivation and spirit domain

Qi Mozi's time spirit domain fills a wide area with golden law power that slows, restrains, or dominates targets. He can use golden flames within that field and counter other time methods through superior cultivation and a larger reserve of law threads. This makes flight or isolated resistance extremely dangerous. The domain is not absolute, however: strong external restrictions can contain him, and interacting domains from reincarnation, illusion, and Han's own time cultivation create openings that raw Great Encompassment pressure cannot automatically close. True Mantra inheritance and pursuit

As Patriarch Miro's former disciple, Qi Mozi knows the value of the True Mantra Sect's time arts and recognizes their connection to Han's growing power. He seeks the Great Five Elemental Illusion Mantra in addition to the vial, treating the hunt as a chance to consolidate a rival time lineage into his own cultivation. The story does not confirm that he successfully acquires Han's complete methods; his desire for them remains a motive, and his failure to secure them is part of the consequence of his defeat. Authority and manipulation

Qi Mozi commands Heavenly Court subordinates and draws on the Immortal Prison's status, but he regularly treats temporary partners as expendable. He pressures captives, bargains only when restrictions make cooperation necessary, and attempts to seize decisive treasures once others have done the dangerous work. This approach gives him short-term leverage while making genuine loyalty scarce. Han's coalition defeats him precisely by coordinating across relationships and law systems that Qi Mozi assumes he can intimidate or outmaneuver separately. (Chapters 3554–3593)
