Li Feiyu — A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality

Li Feiyu is a celebrated Seven Mysteries Sect disciple and Han Li's first enduring peer friend. He forces his martial potential with the Essence Extraction Pill, knowingly exchanging much of his lifespan for strength, status, and the chance to pursue the life he wants. Han Li cannot persuade him to abandon that choice, but their medical bargain becomes a friendship that survives sect warfare and continues through protection extended to the Han family for generations.

This article concerns the mortal Li Feiyu who grows up beside Han Li. Han later borrows his friend's name as an alias in the Immortal Realm, but deeds performed under that alias remain Han Li's. The final chapter also introduces a different man genuinely named Li Feiyu, whom Han recognizes as his old friend's reincarnation; that ascendant is a later life, not the original Seven Mysteries disciple transported unchanged into the future. Biography

Strength purchased with lifespan

Li Feiyu first encounters Han Li while suffering a severe episode caused by the Essence Extraction Pill. Already admired as a gifted senior disciple, he has been using the drug to stimulate martial potential beyond his natural limits, and its accumulated damage threatens his body and sharply shortens his future. Han Li recognizes that the illness is not ordinary training deviation and offers treatment while Doctor Mo is away, beginning their relationship through practical need rather than immediate trust. (Chapters 20–23)

Their arrangement becomes reciprocal. Han Li supplies pain-relieving medicine and works on limiting the pill's damage; Li Feiyu gives him access to martial manuals, sect information, and a connection to the political life Han has largely avoided inside God Hand Valley. Li Feiyu's sociability and status complement Han Li's secrecy, while Han's medical knowledge gives Li a confidant who understands the true cost of his public brilliance. Repeated exchanges turn a transaction into candid friendship. (Chapters 21–43)

Han Li eventually offers the possibility of abandoning the Essence Extraction Pill and the martial power sustained by it. Li Feiyu refuses. He knows the decision may leave him only a few years, but he believes becoming weak and obscure would destroy the standing through which he hopes to win Zhang Xiuer and shape his own life. Han disapproves yet accepts that he cannot make the choice for him, establishing a friendship able to survive a fundamental disagreement about risk. (Chapters 70–75)

Ambition, love, and the Feral Wolf assault

Li Feiyu's vigilance and ability bring rapid promotion. He exposes Feral Wolf Gang spies, earns appointment as a Protector, kills a noted enemy, and rises within the External Blade Division. The promotions fulfill the worldly ambition for which he spent his lifespan, and his courtship of Zhang Xiuer advances toward marriage. His success is therefore inseparable from the pill's bargain: the same strength that makes his desired future possible may prevent him from living through much of it. (Chapters 43–75)

When the Feral Wolf coalition attacks, Li Feiyu prioritizes Zhang Xiuer's safety over passive obedience to sect orders. He and Han Li infiltrate the enemy ranks, reach Setting Sun Summit, and sign the death contract to enter the decisive match. Li Feiyu openly joins the arena beside the woman he loves even though the situation appears hopeless. Han follows, and their partnership places a mortal swordsman beside a friend whose concealed cultivation is about to change the battle. (Chapters 76–92)

Li Feiyu survives the assault and witnesses Han Li reveal power far beyond the sect's ordinary martial world. Afterward, Wang Juechu names him successor and promotes him to lead the External Blade Division. Han leaves without a personal farewell but sends medicines intended to extend Li Feiyu's life, along with congratulations on his expected marriage. Li runs to search for him, yet their last exchange in this life remains the note and the gift rather than a final conversation. (Chapters 92–98)

Leadership, descendants, and an honored name

Li Feiyu goes on to protect Han Li's mortal family after Han departs for cultivation, fulfilling a promise whose consequences last far beyond his own shortened lifespan. Eleven generations later, his descendant Li Feng still knows the connection between the Li and Han families and preserves Han's medicine bottles at the sect shrine. Han's return confirms that Li Feiyu converted personal loyalty into institutional protection rather than allowing the friendship to end when direct contact became impossible. (Chapters 647–663)

The remembered friend also becomes Han Li's identity mirror. In the Immortal Realm, Han repeatedly introduces himself as Li Feiyu—first while concealing his true identity, later as a Blaze Dragon elder, traveling companion, guard, and Scalptia gladiator. The borrowed name accumulates a formidable reputation, and investigators recognize it as deliberate concealment. None of those immortal offices, battles, or cultivation stages belong to the mortal Li Feiyu; they show how persistently Han carries his friend's name. Near the ending, Han uses the remaining power of the Heaven Controlling Vial to revisit the young Li Feiyu training at the Seven Mysteries Sect and secretly sends a streak of power into him. The same chapter later presents another black-robed saber wielder whose real name is Li Feiyu ascending from the North Wind Realm. Han identifies that newcomer as the reincarnation of a past acquaintance and deliberately leaves him to his own path, preserving the self-reliance he valued in the original man. (Chapter 3849)

Appearance and personality

Li Feiyu is a handsome, heroic-looking senior disciple whose practiced confidence and social ease contrast with Han Li's ordinary appearance and withdrawal. In youth he is frequently seen in the active life of the sect, moving comfortably among elders, disciples, and Zhang Xiuer's family. His final time-revisited image is a black-robed boy training until his saber arm is swollen and his clothing soaked, visually returning his later reputation to stubborn daily effort. He is proud, ambitious, passionate, politically perceptive, and intensely loyal. Li Feiyu wants achievement and love strongly enough to accept early death, yet his appetite for status does not erase responsibility: he detects spies, risks himself for the sect and Zhang Xiuer, and protects Han's family after Han leaves. He can be impulsive and possessive in love, but he is also candid about his choices and does not ask Han to pretend their cost is smaller than it is. (Chapters 21–43, 70–98, 647–663)

Abilities and cultivation

Li Feiyu is a mortal martial artist, not an immortal cultivator. His strength comes from disciplined weapon training, Seven Mysteries instruction, combat experience, and the artificial stimulation of the Essence Extraction Pill. The narrative shows promotion in office and reputation but does not establish any immortal cultivation realm, spiritual roots, or ordered stage progression for him. (Chapters 21–98)

Saber and martial skill

Li Feiyu's weapon practice is built on exceptional dedication. He trains through swelling and pain, develops saber intent strong enough to define both his reputation and later reincarnation imagery, and can kill notable martial opponents in the sect conflict. His battlefield value also includes infiltration, reading enemy behavior, and coordinating with Han Li under pressure. These are high mortal accomplishments, but they do not let him contend directly with true immortal-cultivator techniques. (Chapters 43–98, 3849)

Essence Extraction Pill enhancement

The Essence Extraction Pill forces out latent potential and allows Li Feiyu to achieve martial strength beyond his ordinary limits. Its benefit is neither free nor permanent: repeated use causes debilitating attacks and consumes lifespan, leaving only a few years unless the damage can be mitigated. Han Li's medicine reduces suffering and later gifts may extend Li's life, but Li refuses the route that would require surrendering the martial power on which his ambitions depend. Leadership and intelligence

Li Feiyu detects infiltrators, understands sect factions, and turns personal fame into formal authority. Promotion from senior disciple to Protector and External Blade Division leader gives him command responsibility, while designation as Wang Juechu's successor makes him a bridge between the wartime sect and its future. His later protection of the Han family demonstrates that this authority is not merely ceremonial, even though the precise length of his leadership is not dated. (Chapters 43–98, 647–663)

Relationships

Han Li: Li Feiyu's closest friend and medical confidant. They exchange treatment, manuals, intelligence, and battlefield aid; after separation, Li protects the Han family and Han preserves his name across realms.
Zhang Xiuer: The woman Li Feiyu loves and intends to marry. His refusal to relinquish martial strength is partly driven by his desire to be worthy of her, and he risks the sect's final deathmatch to stand beside her.
Wang Juechu: The Seven Mysteries Sect leader who rewards Li's exposure of spies, promotes him through the External Blade Division, and ultimately names him as successor.
Li Feng and the Li descendants: His descendants preserve Han's medicine bottles and the bond between the two families. Li Feng's eleventh-generation testimony confirms that Li Feiyu honored his promise long after Han left.
