Yu Sae-Jung

Yu Sae-Jung is a prodigiously advancing Knight, an heir of the Dawn conglomerate, and the long-term romantic partner of Kim Sae-Jin. Although her family gives her wealth and institutional access, she repeatedly seeks achievement and personal bonds on her own terms. Her direct swordsmanship, public authority, and refusal to abandon Sae-Jin through secrecy, catastrophe, and altered memory make her a central link between his extraordinary identities and the ordinary human life he hopes to preserve.

Biography

Awakening and early survival

Sae-Jung enters the story as a seventeen-year-old Low Tier Knight whose rank, family, and polished manner have already taught her to evaluate people through visible credentials. She is the granddaughter of the Dawn Corporation's chairman and daughter of the Dawn Knights Order's Master, yet she insists on hunting and building a professional network rather than remaining sheltered by that position. Her first conversation with Sae-Jin exposes both her initiative and her prejudice: she approaches because she has heard that he is capable, then turns cool when she learns that he is only a Low Tier Hunter. (Chapter 8)

That confidence collapses when a Troll enters a Ravenous State. Sae-Jung refuses to flee and attacks with a Mana Blade, but the difference in strength leaves her terrified, gravely injured, and unable to protect herself. Sae-Jin intercepts the Troll long enough for Park Hyun-Oh to finish it, then disappears before she can identify him. After a two-day coma, she fixes on the unknown rescuer's back and orders Park to find him, presenting the search as repayment even while her emotional investment is already stronger than a formal debt. A Goblin-made potion later heals the paralysis that ordinary treatment had not quickly resolved. (Chapters 8–10)

Recovery changes how Sae-Jung acts on admiration. She advances to low Mid Tier at a record-setting age, judges equipment with exacting standards, and gives the anonymous Orc-made dagger the tournament's highest recognition because she values its practical quality rather than its maker's status. When she begins hunting with Sae-Jin, she takes the front line while he observes and supports, gradually replacing her first dismissive judgment with trust in his competence. She also admits that a private Trait accelerates her growth, seeks his company outside the field, and becomes visibly nervous when meeting her professional ideal, Kim Yu-Rin. The combination reveals a young woman becoming more candid without losing ambition. (Chapters 24, 28, 31, and 38)

Hidden crafts and The Monster

Sae-Jung's partnership with Sae-Jin becomes institutional when she joins The Monster in its early Society stage. Her family connections could have made her participation merely decorative, but she contributes as an active Knight and as a bridge to Dawn's personnel and corporate resources while continuing her own training. Sae-Jin, in turn, studies her preference for a broadsword and arranges for the Orc Blacksmith's Growth-by-Absorption weapon to recognize her as its owner. Receiving the Yu Sae-Jung's Growth Broadsword ties her advancement to his concealed craft long before she understands the craftsman's identity. (Chapters 32–34 and 38–40)

Her rapid improvement is not effortless. Sae-Jin offers Magic Tattoos that increase total Mana when inscribed with a Mana Stone, and she accepts the painful, conspicuous procedure because the enhancement can widen what her swordsmanship can sustain. The tattoo activates visibly when she draws on Mana, and its result becomes measurable in her own Status window; it does not replace practice or grant a new combat technique. Public curiosity about her sudden increase becomes intense enough that Sae-Jin claims responsibility through his purported Trait and imposes a restrictive once-per-month explanation, protecting both her and the secrecy of his actual craft. As The Monster expands, Sae-Jung's personal expectations grow alongside its businesses. She seeks time with Sae-Jin, disguises dates as practical errands or requests, and becomes frustrated when his work and unexplained absences repeatedly take priority. Her jealousy toward Hazeline and unease around the special bond between Yu-Rin and the Hero Orc are therefore not isolated rivalries: they arise because Sae-Jin has invited her into a shared future while withholding the identities that organize much of his life. By making her affection explicit and continuing to participate in his ventures, Sae-Jung changes from an admirer waiting for attention into a partner who demands a place in his decisions. Red Moon and unstable evolution

The Red Moon crisis turns Sae-Jin's pattern of disappearance into a threat Sae-Jung cannot dismiss as work. Monster attacks create duties for her as a Knight, while his absences leave her unable to know whether he is safe or involved. She responds by remaining active rather than waiting passively: she joins emergency activity, keeps trying to reach him, and continues the training that is carrying her beyond her nominal rank. The result is a difficult division of attention in which public competence does not reduce private fear; the more capable she becomes, the less willing she is to accept that he must face danger alone. Her suspicion sharpens after she finds Hazeline personally training Sae-Jin in Mana control. The lesson has a legitimate purpose, but the intimacy of the scene and Hazeline's access to parts of his life that Sae-Jung does not understand intensify her jealousy. She does not withdraw from the relationship. Instead, she presses Sae-Jin more directly and makes emotional accountability part of their partnership. This reaction distinguishes possessiveness from helplessness: Sae-Jung may become angry or competitive, yet her answer to uncertainty is consistently to confront, clarify, and remain involved rather than surrender her claim on their shared life. By the later phase of the crisis, Sae-Jung's position lets her combine emotional pressure with practical influence. When Sae-Jin's attention becomes distant under mounting investigations and public burdens, she is hurt by the coldness but still answers when he returns to explain or ask for assistance. She can support a public strategy through Dawn and The Monster while insisting that he speak to her as a partner rather than an asset. Her growing authority therefore does not harden her into the imperious girl of her introduction; it gives her the means to be both a prominent Knight and a stabilizing private presence. Vampire schemes and Jin Seh-Hahn

Sae-Jin's Jin Seh-Hahn identity compounds every existing tension. Sae-Jung encounters the new Eden prodigy as a public figure whose appearance and habits resemble her boyfriend's in unsettling ways, while Sae-Jin continues to divide his time between secret missions, The Monster, and their relationship. Her desire is not to control every operation but to know what kind of future she is being asked to wait for. Even without the full truth, she supports The Monster's public work and continues meeting her Knightly obligations instead of turning the mystery into a reason to abandon either him or the organization. Her own progress gives that support military weight. Sae-Jung becomes the world's youngest upper Mid Tier Knight, demonstrates enough force and control to overwhelm academy cadets with a wooden sword, and later projects sword aura across numerous directions during a mass Monster battle. Multiple Mana-increasing tattoos enlarge her reserve, but they are useful because her trained technique can convert that reserve into precise and sustained attacks. On the battlefield she stays near Sae-Jin, watches for his safety, and contributes directly to the defense rather than allowing his exceptional abilities to reduce her to a protected observer. The staged death of Jin Seh-Hahn and the broader vampire crisis show how much grief Sae-Jin's masks can create even when a plan succeeds. Sae-Jung's relationship with the human Sae-Jin survives the upheaval, and at a public sea gathering she openly identifies them as a couple and says that she loves him deeply. That declaration gives their bond a social reality independent of his hidden roles, but it also exposes her vulnerability: she worries that she loves him more and remains grateful simply to have him. Her rivalry with Hazeline subsequently becomes explicit, while Yu-Rin's attachments remain a complication neither secrecy nor professional respect can erase. (Chapters 119–120 and 124)

Nosferatu alliance and the Bathory conflict

The Nosferatu conflict intrudes on the domestic stability Sae-Jung is trying to build. Sae-Jin's operations become more dangerous and less explainable, and the arrival of Bathory adds an opponent whose interest in him is at once strategic, violent, and personal. Sae-Jung cannot participate in every concealed negotiation, but she continues her own responsibilities and supports the Guild's preparations rather than demanding that the world contract around their romance. Her acceptance has a boundary: extraordinary danger may be unavoidable, but being excluded from its consequences is not something she regards as protection. (Chapters 133 and 139)

That boundary becomes visible after the failed attempt to contain Bathory. Sae-Jin returns from an operation in which his allies are badly endangered, and Sae-Jung's fear erupts as anger rather than relief alone. When the group escapes through unstable instant transmission, she strikes him while sobbing, then remains close enough to rest against him as the immediate panic passes. The sequence captures her characteristic response to his risk-taking: she does not confuse survival with justification, yet confrontation is followed by care because her aim is to preserve the relationship, not win a quarrel. (Chapters 144 and 146)

Sae-Jung also refuses to treat romantic insecurity as more important than collective preparation. Hazeline remains a rival and Bathory remains volatile, but both are powerful participants in the coalition forming around the Fissure. Sae-Jung tolerates their presence, helps maintain The Monster's public and organizational life, and keeps pressing Sae-Jin for ordinary commitments inside that exceptional network. This is a mature version of the directness she showed as a teenager: she accepts that his life contains dangers and loyalties she cannot remove, while refusing to surrender the honesty, time, and reciprocity required for a stable shared future. Exhibition, Fissure war, and aftermath

During The Monster's Exhibition and the approach of the Fissure war, Sae-Jung operates through both reputation and organization. She manages contacts, helps the Guild's public events function amid enormous scrutiny, and remains one of the prominent figures through whom The Monster and Dawn can coordinate business and social influence. At the same time, the possibility of catastrophe makes private commitments urgent. A group vacation after another Guild wedding gives her and Sae-Jin a brief image of ordinary domestic happiness, and Sae-Jin asks her to marry him. She accepts the promise, although he postpones the wedding until after a long mission he still cannot fully explain. (Chapters 151, 160, and 166)

When the Fissure opens, Sae-Jung cannot follow Sae-Jin through the route he must take. She instead carries the harder obligation of waiting after he promises his return and offers the rest of his life. His battle as Bahamut saves the world, but he disappears, all Traits vanish, and years pass without confirmation that he survived. Sae-Jung adapts to the loss of her Trait because her identity was never founded on the power alone. She continues leading enterprises, becomes the future inheritor of Dawn and director of the Dawn & TM Wizard Tower, and preserves The Monster's community even as loneliness makes each annual gathering painful. (Chapters 168 and 172–173)

The epilogue does not complete the wedding promised before the war. Instead, Sae-Jung recognizes Sae-Jin's gestures and habits in Kim Yun-Jeh, an ordinary man with a changed face and no memory of her, then learns from Lillia that centuries of sacrifice may have ended with the Earth removing both his Trait and memories. After grief and an unsuccessful attempt to make him recognize her, Sae-Jung chooses renewed action: Bathory independently confirms that a Mana-signature detector traced Yun-Jeh, after which Sae-Jung moves near him and begins creating opportunities for new memories without forcing intimacy. Her constancy therefore survives factual discontinuity; she remains committed to the person even when their old relationship cannot simply be resumed. (Chapters 173–174)

Appearance and personality

Sae-Jung is introduced as a young woman with bobbed hair, a straight nose, intelligent eyes, and a composed atmosphere that makes her seem older than seventeen. Later descriptions repeatedly emphasize model-like beauty alongside the bearing of a trained Knight. Her appearance becomes more physically formidable as her Trait, training, and Magic Tattoos support her development, but the text continues to contrast that combat readiness with expressions that readily reveal jealousy, embarrassment, worry, or delight around people she trusts. Her most obvious personality traits are confidence, directness, pride, and competitiveness. Early privilege makes her quick to judge a Low Tier Hunter as unimportant, and she can be demanding toward Park Hyun-Oh, Sae-Jin, or romantic rivals. She is also capable of recognizing evidence that contradicts her assumptions: the rescued girl seeks the unknown Hunter, the equipment judge rewards anonymous quality, and the conglomerate heir repeatedly chooses hard training and dangerous fieldwork. Her bluntness consequently matures from imperiousness into a habit of stating needs and confronting problems openly. (Chapters 8–9, 24, 84, and 146)

Sae-Jung's emotional life is unusually visible for someone with substantial public authority. She is fiercely loyal, easily jealous, and sometimes afraid that her love is unequal, but those vulnerabilities do not make her passive. She fights, organizes, argues, waits, and eventually approaches an amnesiac Sae-Jin again despite the possibility that he will never recover their shared past. Her ability to adapt after Traits disappear reflects the same foundation: rank and inheritance matter to her, yet neither replaces effort, personal responsibility, or the relationships she has actively chosen. Mana reinforcement and swordsmanship

As a Knight, Sae-Jung circulates Mana through her body and weapon to reinforce attacks and manifest a Mana Blade or projected sword aura. She favors direct frontline swordsmanship, initially with heavy or broad blades, and can convert a large reserve into sweeping attacks that strike multiple directions. Her technique develops from determined but inadequate resistance against a Ravenous Troll into precise hunting teamwork, decisive academy instruction, and large-area battlefield offense. The power still follows Knightly limits: an opponent far above her rank can break through her defense, expended Mana reduces sustained output, and a larger reserve is useful only when paired with control and training. (Chapters 8, 28, 31, 105, and 115–116)

Her Yu Sae-Jung's Growth Broadsword is designed around that development. Once it recognizes her as owner, the weapon absorbs Mana from the blood and flesh of defeated Monsters and grows in resonance with her Mana. This makes it an evolving partner rather than a fixed shortcut: it requires eligible material, a designated owner, and Sae-Jung's own continued battles and advancement. Her later feats also involve other equipment and enhancements, but the corpus does not attribute her accumulated sword skill to a single weapon. (Chapters 32, 38, and 40)

Trait-assisted progression and Magic Tattoos

Sae-Jung possesses a private Trait that accelerates her growth. She confirms its existence when Sae-Jin notices a qualitative rise in the density and richness of her Mana, but she withholds its name and detailed mechanics, as many Trait holders do. The known result is unusually fast advancement: she moves from Low Tier to record-setting low Mid Tier and eventually becomes the youngest upper Mid Tier Knight. The source does not establish that the Trait automatically supplies sword techniques, removes promotion requirements, or eliminates training; her repeated practice and combat remain necessary parts of the progression. Sae-Jin's Magic Tattoos are external enhancements rather than part of Sae-Jung's own Trait. Using liquefied Mana or Mana Stones as ingredients, he inscribes designs that visibly shine when she accesses Mana and increase her overall reserve. Ingredient quality affects the result, inscription is painful, and Sae-Jin publicly claims that the process can be performed only about once a month because it imposes a heavy burden on him. Sae-Jung eventually bears several such tattoos, giving her more energy for reinforcement and sword aura without removing the need to control that power. Sae-Jung's noncombat capability rests on inheritance, education, reputation, and sustained organizational work rather than supernatural compulsion. She connects The Monster with Dawn resources, participates in Guild decisions and public events, and develops enough standing to manage press, corporate relationships, and large initiatives. After the final crisis she is identified as the future inheritor of the Dawn conglomerate, director of the jointly owned Dawn & TM Wizard Tower, and majority shareholder of The Monster Entertainment. These positions give her access to staff, capital, and high-level networks, but their usefulness depends on delegation, negotiation, and the institutions surviving around her.
