Zhong Xie

Zhong Xie is a supernatural investigator who joins Cheng Yu's effort against the Heavenly Demons.

Biography

Choosing solidarity over escape

Zhong Xie investigates vanished yin energy alongside Rosie and considers whether body possession explains the missing demonic traces. The case brings him into the wider crisis created by the Alien Star warriors and into cooperation with Du Ge, acting as Cheng Yu. His willingness to test supernatural explanations makes him useful in a conflict whose rules conventional investigators do not understand. (Chapters 271–272)

When the Special Affairs Bureau's struggle reaches its breaking point, Zhong refuses to abandon Cheng Yu and the other defenders. He accepts that the cultivation world may collapse if they leave and offers to die with the group whose danger has drawn the Bureau into the battle. After victory, he asks Cheng Yu to stay; Du Ge's explanation that a Heavenly Demon must depart after eliminating its peers leaves Zhong alive but unable to preserve the alliance he had chosen. Appearance and personality

Zhong's eyes can faintly show double pupils. He is observant, loyal under pressure, and emotionally direct when facing Cheng Yu's departure. (Chapters 271 and 293)

Abilities

Zhong can perceive yin energy and notice its unnatural absence, supporting supernatural investigation and pursuit. The range and combat use of his double-pupil perception are not defined, and it does not by itself reveal a successfully concealed possession. (Chapter 271)

Relationships

• Du Ge: Zhong comes to regard Cheng Yu as a comrade worth dying beside and asks him not to leave.
