Reading omens during the coalition crisis

Yuan Xiaoyan serves Guo Yougui’s group as a diviner whose forecasts influence strategy before combat begins. Her unfavorable reading against the Seventh Army Group damages morale so sharply that the faction explores cooperation instead of immediate war. Later she interprets “after adversity comes prosperity” for Du Ge’s coalition and continues seeing a sole eventual winner. When others persuade themselves that Du Ge’s death is acceptable, she recognizes that his fall would destroy their own prospects but cannot safely overturn the group’s momentum. (Chapters 492–505)

Appearance and abilities

Her divination supplies symbolic judgments about likely outcomes and can be repeated as circumstances change. The results affect decisions but are open to interpretation and do not grant control over how an omen is fulfilled. (Chapters 492–493 and 502–505)
