Queen Mother — World’s End: My Keyword is One More Than Others

The Queen Mother is one of the two highest authorities of the Celestial Court and a quasi-saint whose long pursuit of greater power ultimately carries her into another universe. Initially a defender of the old celestial order and an enemy of Du Ge, she later possesses the Giant general Marquis, develops the keyword Arrogance, and joins the coalition assembled to kill him. Her final reversal is forced by battlefield defeat, but her distrust of the Dao Ancestor means that it also places her on the side she had already begun to regard as the safer path.

Biography

Authority beside the celestial throne

The Queen Mother governs the female immortals while the Great Emperor governs the celestial realm, placing her at the summit of the established order rather than merely within its bureaucracy. Her Peach Tree is counted among the Innate Spiritual Beings held by the world's great powers, and her Peach Banquets are rare events remembered across spans of hundreds of thousands of years. These signs of wealth and ritual authority explain why threats to the Celestial Court are also threats to her own position and path toward sainthood. (Chapters 516, 535, 571–572)

When reports of Du Ge's rise reach the heavenly palace, the Immortal Emperor consults her directly. She cannot determine his identity or verify his proposed method of becoming a saint, but advises capturing him if the emperor wants the truth. That concise recommendation reflects her early priorities: Du Ge is not yet a partner or teacher, but an unpredictable being whose knowledge might break the barrier that has kept the court's quasi-saints from advancing. The pair consequently treat his growing human regime as both a political revolt and a possible source of transcendence. (Chapter 570)

Rescuing the court and losing to unfamiliar laws

During the decisive struggle in the Central Extreme Continent, the Queen Mother first holds the Demon Emperor at bay. Because they are evenly matched, she cannot decisively defeat him, but she drives him back to Mount Sumeru before returning to find Du Ge draining the Immortal Emperor's blood essence. She intervenes at once: without her counterpart, she judges that Du Ge's alliance with the Demon Emperor and Underworld Emperor would leave her as the next isolated target. Her plantain fan scatters the combatants, and she reveals a Thousand Faces and Thousand Hands form armed with numerous magical artifacts. (Chapter 593)

That strongest form also exposes how little experience she has with keyword abilities. Zhang Desheng's gaze skill normally requires an opponent to meet his eyes, but her many faces give him abundant points of contact and leave her frozen in a compelled stare until the Immortal Emperor rescues her. The two quasi-saints temporarily regain the advantage together, yet overlapping keyword effects, enemy reinforcements, and Du Ge's blood-energy absorption dismantle their conventional superiority. Her core survives repeated losses of blood essence, but the court's army collapses into disorder and she disappears from the battlefield with the other celestial leaders. (Chapters 593–594)

Marquis, Arrogance, and a disputed path beyond sainthood

After agreeing to seek transcendence through keywords, the Queen Mother enters the body of Marquis, a burly male general of the Giant Clan. She treats the change of sex and species as incidental because the body is only a vehicle for power. The pairing is nevertheless unusually favorable: Giants are naturally strong, violent, and proud, while Marquis possesses fire power and the keyword Arrogance. Within three months she adapts to the body, awakens Disdain and Reckless, and volunteers for the interstellar war so public feats can accelerate her growth and draw former Celestial Court figures to her banner. Reuniting with the Dao Ancestor does not remove her doubts. Her new combat strength is below what she possessed as a quasi-saint, her former cultivation cannot operate in the new universe, and keyword skills seem powerful but narrow. The Dao Ancestor gives her a version of Rad Dao-fruit cultivation adjusted for Giant meridians, but no completed breakthrough follows. She instead supports a coalition against Du Ge because killing him might transfer his accumulated attributes, while repeatedly pressing the practical questions the Dao Ancestor avoids: who can kill Du Ge after he reaches his peak, and who receives the benefit if many allies defeat one target? (Chapters 623, 629)

The broken ambush and forced realignment

The First Saint later deploys Marquis and the Immortal Emperor as a coordinated trap. The Queen Mother's gaze compels Du Ge to dodge, opening the instant in which the Immortal Emperor's paralysis skill is meant to leave him vulnerable to spatial destruction. Instead, the Immortal Emperor defects and strikes Marquis, breaking her line of sight and the effect of her skill. Du Ge immediately marks her as his private property and shelters both former celestial rulers from the First Saint's spatial collapse. When confronted, she angrily observes that the Immortal Emperor should have warned her, since she had never placed complete trust in the Dao Ancestor. (Chapters 644–645)

Once bound to Du Ge, she immediately turns Disdain against the First Saint and Zorn God King, forcing both to evade while the Celestial God King protects her comparatively vulnerable host. This support helps break the opposing coalition, after which she stands among Du Ge's assembled allies. Her soul is recalled when the remaining competitors are removed, but Marquis's body and its Arrogance skills remain behind. Du Ge later confirms that a split soul can operate the body and use those skills, leaving her final physical legacy as part of his arsenal while her soul's destination after the recall remains unknown. Keywords, skills, and cultivation

Quasi-saint cultivation and celestial form

In her original world, the Queen Mother is a quasi-saint comparable to the Immortal Emperor and Demon Emperor. She can contend with the Demon Emperor for an extended period, endure repeated blood-essence extraction without damage to her core, and assume a Thousand Faces and Thousand Hands battle form in which every hand carries an artifact. A plantain fan produces a gust powerful enough to scatter a high-level melee. The form's many faces, however, make gaze-based control unusually easy to establish, and conventional cultivation alone cannot reliably resist the rule-like effects of keywords. Her original techniques also cannot be used after she occupies Marquis in the new universe. (Chapters 593–594, 623)

Giant physique and fire

Marquis's Giant body gives the Queen Mother immense natural strength and an innate command of fire. It provides a sturdy base for Arrogance and lets her enter an interstellar war as an established general rather than begin without status or resources. Even so, she explicitly judges this body's combat power inferior to her former quasi-saint strength. The Giant physique does not automatically reproduce her old cultivation, and the Dao-fruit method later transmitted to her still requires a framework and a way to fill it with spiritual power. Arrogance and attribute growth

Arrogance rewards conduct that embodies superiority and contempt. The Queen Mother therefore boasts about taking down Du Ge and sweeping through the universe even while discussing sober strategy, carefully maintaining the behavior that supports her attributes. The keyword's growth is open-ended in principle, but it depends on repeated matching actions and the time and audience needed to make those actions consequential. Her transfer into Marquis thus trades a complete quasi-saint system for a potentially unlimited but initially weaker route whose practical ceiling she never reaches before being recalled. Disdain / Eyes Without a Target

Disdain, later called Eyes Without a Target, forces anyone the Queen Mother looks at directly to dodge regardless of what that target intended to do. Sustained attention can keep an opponent evading, disrupt a formation, and create an opening for a partner's attack; it works even against Du Ge, the First Saint, and Zorn God King. Its limitation is geometric rather than a test of raw strength: it ends when she loses sight of the target, and an opponent fast enough to move behind her escapes its control. She recognizes that additional heads or all-around vision would make the skill far more difficult to counter. (Chapters 617, 633, 644–645)

Reckless

Reckless activates when the Queen Mother behaves wantonly, provoking hatred from everyone nearby; the more people she offends, the faster her attributes rise. It complements Arrogance by converting provocative public conduct into direct physical development, making war and boastful leadership useful growth environments. The same mechanic carries a social and tactical cost: its fastest growth requires producing numerous enemies, and it offers no immediate defense if those enemies can bypass Disdain. After her recall, the skill remains embedded in Marquis's body and becomes usable by Du Ge's split soul. (Chapters 617, 647)

Relationships

Du Ge

The Queen Mother initially regards Du Ge as a threat to the Celestial Court and a possible key to sainthood. He defeats her original quasi-saint body through the combined use of allies and keywords, then becomes the target of her second life's search for transcendence. Their conflict ends when he marks Marquis as private property. She thereafter supports him in battle, while he preserves and later operates the host body after her soul is recalled. (Chapters 570, 593–594, 623, 644–647)

Immortal Emperor

The Immortal Emperor is her counterpart in the Celestial Court and her most important long-term ally. She risks entering a losing battle because his fall would leave her isolated, and their joined quasi-saint power briefly restores the court's advantage. In their later lives, his secret decision to defect ruins the coalition's ambush and subjects her to Du Ge's control, but it also saves both of them from trusting the Dao Ancestor's doomed plan. Dao Ancestor

The Dao Ancestor persuades the Queen Mother to exchange her old body for a chance to transcend through keywords and later gives her cultivation adapted to Giant meridians. She follows his coalition strategy because it offers access to Du Ge's attributes, yet persistently challenges its assumptions and never fully trusts him. Her skepticism becomes decisive in retrospect when the alliance fails and she accepts the Immortal Emperor's claim that Du Ge offers the only remaining hope. (Chapters 623, 629, 645)

Celestial God King

The Celestial God King begins as one of the powerful rulers the Queen Mother expects an anti-Du-Ge alliance to recruit. After both have been defeated, he becomes her battlefield protector: while her gaze skill disrupts the enemy, he shields Marquis from God King-level retaliation. Their cooperation illustrates the final coalition's division of labor between her rule-like keyword effect and his superior direct combat power. (Chapters 623, 645)
