Biography
Investing in Yunyao's impossible sword legend
The Sword Saint receives Yunyao after the young disciple claims knowledge of a greater immortal sword tradition. Although the story is implausible, her performance awakens enough curiosity for him to invest in her training. That decision gives the candidate institutional protection and martial instruction, while also making the sect a center for the exaggerated Heavenly Spirit Sword legend that later affects national politics. As Du Ge's publicity spreads Yunyao's supposed techniques, the Sword Saint studies the demonstrations rather than rejecting them as fraud. Repeatedly observing the manufactured sword arts allows him to deduce Sword Twenty-Three for himself. His reputation is surpassed by that of the Yunyao Sword Immortal, but he converts the public fiction into a genuine advance in swordsmanship instead of merely defending his old status. Appearance and personality
The Sword Saint is curious, intellectually flexible, and secure enough in his expertise to investigate an impossible claim. That curiosity makes him vulnerable to Yunyao's bluff but also enables his later breakthrough. (Chapters 317–318 and 374)

As Qinglan's grandmaster, the Sword Saint possesses nation-shaping personal force and elite sword knowledge. After studying Yunyao's Heavenly Spirit Sword Technique, he independently deduces Sword Twenty-Three.
