Following King Holly from prison into war

Simon identifies Orey as one of the prisoners worth releasing, and Orey responds to freedom with open gratitude rather than suspicion. He becomes a practical supporter of King Holly, proposing that rescuing Holly’s family will disprove hostile rumors and stabilize the coalition. During the angelic confrontation, he believes Holly is sacrificing himself and rushes forward in grief, but Old Gao pulls him away so the remaining followers do not waste what they think is their king’s last stand. (Chapters 384–418)
