Lather

Lather is a quiet former prisoner whom Simon judges worthy of freedom and who later becomes a loyal supporter of King Holly.

Biography

Freedom and service to King Holly

When Simon assessed the inmates of Bask Prison, he distinguished Lather, Reg, and Orey from the violent criminals around them and recommended releasing them. Lather appeared thin and gray-haired, with an age made difficult to judge by his unwrinkled face, and initially spoke little. His loyalty became unmistakable after he was found safe: seeing Holly alive moved him to tears, revealing that liberation had become a personal bond rather than a temporary convenience. Holly later entrusted Lather and other reliable followers with spreading his story into neighboring countries. The assignment turned Lather's gratitude into organized service, using testimony about Holly's deeds to extend the king's reputation and influence beyond the immediate battlefield. (Chapter 425)

Lather displays no named keyword, spell, or cultivation system.
