Hod

Biography

Designing around an uncontrollable protagonist

Hod is responsible for plans that keep the Resource Game competitive after Du Ge repeatedly overwhelms its intended structure. He proposes new rules, rival contestants, relaxed body-possession conditions, and even bringing Du Ge into the company as a planner. His analysis increasingly recognizes that direct confrontation may be a trap. When Pan-Universal civilization prepares a final assault, Hod argues for retreat into another parallel universe instead, showing that the designer who once controlled battlefields now fears being enclosed by his own contestant’s strategy. (Chapters 388–650)

Relationships

  • Key relationship: He first treats Du Ge as a planning problem and later as a potential colleague or civilization-level threat whose incentives must be understood rather than merely suppressed. (Chapters 432–650)
