Ding Wanjie

Ding Wanjie is a Beggars' Sect elder who enters Feng Qi's Luyang conference expecting to judge a vulnerable upstart and instead becomes the first visiting representative forced into the Peacekeeping Alliance.

Biography

Signing away his independence in Luyang

Ding Wanjie accepts Feng Qi's invitation because he suspects the new peacekeeping organization wants established sects to help oppose the Iron Palm Gang. He arrives confident that martial-world rules constrain the Heavenly Demon, but Du Ge frames the delegates as accomplices to murder and singles Ding out to sign seven blank agreements under threat. Ding complies to survive and hopes to escape later; his signature breaks the other representatives' resistance and publicly binds the Beggars' Sect branch to Feng Qi's campaign. He then masks his anger with the rhetoric of selfless justice, only to find Du Ge using that language to tighten the alliance further. (Chapters 44–46)

After witnessing Feng Jiu's monstrous Glutton form, Ding no longer treats the Heavenly Demons as a problem ordinary sect politics can easily reverse. He remains with the other coerced representatives and warns that their home sects may brand them traitors once news of Luyang spreads. (Chapters 48–50)

Appearance and personality

Ding is an older Beggars' Sect representative who arrives with a dirty old beggar attendant. He is cautious and politically alert, but survival takes priority when direct resistance becomes hopeless. (Chapters 44–46)

Martial abilities

As a Beggars' Sect elder, Ding can use lightness skill well enough to leap onto a courtyard wall. No named personal technique is demonstrated. (Chapter 48)

Relationships

• Du Ge: Du Ge coerces Ding into legitimizing the Peacekeeping Alliance, turning his attempted caution into an example for the other delegates.
• Beggars' Sect: Ding represents its Luyang interests but fears his coerced cooperation will be treated as betrayal.
