Dan Cong is a scholar whose word-based ability becomes one of Du Ge's most versatile tactical resources during the Seven Stars Sect conflict.

Biography

Becoming Du Ge's written blade

Dan protects himself behind the stable identity of a Yan Country scholar, but Du Ge deliberately targets him as a useful top-ranked contestant. Rather than simply eliminate him, Du Ge keeps him at the Medicine Immortal Sect and has him produce written characters that can be carried into later battles. The arrangement turns Dan's nonphysical specialty into portable battlefield control and teaches Du Ge that organized allies can accomplish more than hunting every opponent personally. Dan survives as a recognized comrade, and Ye Wan later invokes his and Wu Chang's names to establish goodwill with Du Ge. (Chapters 230, 239–263, 564)

Dan can write characters whose meanings impose corresponding conditions when applied, including concepts such as “forbidden,” “weak,” and “illusory.” Prepared inscriptions are effectively plug-and-play tools, letting stronger allies deliver his semantic effects.
