Light Void Wings
The Light Void Wings are the first transformation of Zuo Mo's Great Day mo physique, not a crafted or acquired treasure. They manifest visibly as half-transparent golden wings, but the text explicitly locates their power in Zuo Mo's awakened body rather than in the wings themselves. Their inclusion in the item catalog therefore represents a non-portable technique-form, with no independent ownership or custody lifecycle. (Chapters 313–314 and 381)
History
Manifestation turns the Great Day physique into battlefield speed
Zuo Mo first manifests the wings while fighting the Hundred Flower Alliance. Their movement lets him disappear from one position and reappear elsewhere fast enough to intervene in a jindan-level battle, while also shaking off an oppressive presence that freezes other combatants. When the transformation fades after the battle, the explosive strength it awakened recedes with it, showing that the visible wings are a temporary expression of the physique rather than equipment left on his body. (Chapters 313–315)
The initial speed is difficult to control. While learning in combat, Zuo Mo overshoots targets and rebounds through a crowd like a human wrecking ball; his durable Great Day mo physique prevents those collisions from stopping him. This dangerous practice gives him enough control to make the transformation a reliable basis for fighting stronger opponents rather than a simple straight-line escape. (Chapter 318)
Control changes a winged transformation into flexible movement
Continued use broadens the technique's applications. Zuo Mo employs its manifested pressure while taming the twin butterfly, rescues the falling Ma Fan, and combines it with Golden Crow Feet for both speed and force. He later suppresses the visible wings and diverts their power into his legs, producing a void-stepping effect and suggesting that the transformation's power can be routed through his body instead of remaining fixed in wing form. (Chapters 327, 343, 349, 351, and 381)
Its speed remains powerful but not unlimited. Zuo Mo cannot activate it while reduced to a soul in the Ten Finger Prison, cannot fly out of the self-cycling Five Element Fog, and still cannot shake an assassin's tracking killing energy merely by driving the wings to maximum speed. At its last documented reference, he tries to escape with the technique but first has to wait for newly unified shen power to divide into the powers its activation requires. These constraints concern access and control; the corpus never records the wings being broken, lost, consumed, or transferred. (Chapters 333, 465, 489, and 502)
Abilities and properties
- Extreme acceleration: A light flap can move Zuo Mo so quickly that he appears to vanish, enabling pursuit, rescue, evasion, and sudden close-range attacks. (Chapters 314–315, 343, and 438)
- Embodied power source: The wings feel rooted in Zuo Mo, but the awakened power comes from his muscles, blood, bones, and the deeper reserves of the Great Day mo physique rather than from an external artifact. (Chapter 314)
- Internal rerouting: Zuo Mo can suppress the visible wings and channel their movement power to his legs for a void-stepping effect; he also combines the transformation with Golden Crow Feet. (Chapters 349, 351, and 381)
- Presence resistance: Their movement resolves an oppressive battlefield presence that immobilizes surrounding fighters, although the text does not establish universal immunity to pressure or restraint. (Chapter 314)
- Technique limitations: The transformation requires the appropriate embodied power, does not function when Zuo Mo is only a soul, cannot defeat every spatial enclosure, and does not guarantee escape from attacks able to track him. (Chapters 333, 465, 489, and 502)
