Crossed Prayer Wheel

The Crossed Prayer Wheel is Zong Ru's principal early-jindan talisman. It combines the Nine Turn Sky Soil Disk with the Four-Flanged Vajra Gada and is refined through his daily recitation of Attainment Golden Body and the wish power of his Buddhahood Abandonment Death Wish. Turning the wheel releases scripture characters that restrain opponents, block hostile energy, and carry his wish power. (Chapters 392, 464–468, 488, and 529–535)

A composite talisman shaped by a vow

Zuo Mo gives Zong Ru the sixth-grade Attainment Golden Body and Nine Turn Sky Soil Disk after recognizing that poverty and an incomplete inheritance have stopped the dhyana cultivator's progress. Zong Ru already carries the Four-Flanged Vajra Gada that Zuo Mo reforged for him. By Chapter 464, the disk forms the body of a prayer wheel and the gada its spokes. Zong Ru's repeated recitation and wish-power purification are gradually merging the two components, so the resulting artifact reflects both Zuo Mo's material support and Zong Ru's self-sworn path. (Chapters 234, 268–269, 392, and 464)

Zong Ru uses the wheel in clashes around Turtle Island and during the expedition for a water cloud embryo. Against Yuan Xin, its quality and the profound scripture behind it let Zong Ru contest a more experienced dhyana opponent without yielding the artifact the man covets. In later fights, rotating the wheel releases bright scripture characters that pin cultivators beneath great weight, shield a traveling formation from ice mist, and intercept shen power. Strong attacks can destroy the manifested characters, which makes the wheel an amplifier and focus rather than an absolute defense. (Chapters 465–468, 488, and 529–535)

The corpus does not record the Crossed Prayer Wheel after Chapter 535. Zong Ru later receives the Three Manifestations Treasure Staff, but no scene states that the wheel was destroyed, dismantled, transferred, or still used alongside the newer weapon. (Chapters 535 and 808)

Abilities and properties

• Composite construction: The Nine Turn Sky Soil Disk serves as the central body and the Four-Flanged Vajra Gada as the spokes. Attainment Golden Body recitation and wish-power purification cause the components to merge over time. The exact forging date and final conventional grade are not stated. (Chapter 464)
• Scripture-character projection: Turning the wheel releases golden sutra characters. They can make opponents feel impossibly heavy, form a moving barrier, or spread through the surrounding space as golden lines. Their effects depend on Zong Ru's chant, wish power, and control. (Chapters 488, 529, and 535)
• Wish-power channeling: Grey wish power permeates the wheel and wraps its projected characters, allowing the talisman to carry the soul-affecting force of Zong Ru's death wish. The wheel does not create that power independently; its exceptional effect depends on the vow and cultivator behind it. (Chapters 464 and 532–535)
• Defense: Fine scripture characters stop the strange cold of ice mist and can absorb or interrupt waves of shen power. Individual characters may explode under impact, and a stronger dhyana opponent or sustained attack can still overcome Zong Ru's defense. (Chapters 468, 529, and 532–535)
• Restraint rather than guaranteed injury: In the documented Turtle Island use, the characters impose weight and limit movement. This supports capture and coordinated attack but does not establish that every target is directly killed or permanently sealed by the wheel. (Chapter 488)
