Black Gold Seal

The Black Gold Seal, also called the Black Gold Seal Soldier, changes from Gu Xiang Tian's sixth-grade material-body weapon into an independently speaking and scheming combatant after Zuo Mo captures and reforges it. It retains a seal-paper form and a manifested soldier form, but its later personality makes “custody” closer to allegiance than ownership of an inert talisman. (Chapters 450–464, 640–644, 789–799, and 867–890)

History

Gu Xiang Tian's sixth-grade seal soldier

Gu Xiang Tian deploys the Black Gold Seal Soldier inside the Thousand Gem Illusory Disk. The soldier's material body combines speed, strength, and the ability to shift between a metal combat form and black-gold seal paper. Zuo Mo kills Gu Xiang Tian, captures the damaged paper seal, and takes it away; the surrounding illusory disk belongs to another cultivator and is not part of the seal. (Chapters 450–452)

Repair, sacrifice, and awakening

Following Gu Xiang Tian's instructions only in part, Zuo Mo repairs the three-cun paper with golden crystal sand and adds an intelligent totem fragment. The reforging consumes three Golden Armor Guards as sacrificial material and makes the resulting figure resemble Zuo Mo. These substitutions move it away from an ordinary activated seal soldier and toward a totem-like puppet with its own mind. (Chapter 463)

The awakened soldier speaks, calls Zuo Mo “Big Bro,” displays laziness and appetite, and no longer responds like a conventional command-only talisman. It nevertheless repeatedly chooses to fight with Zuo Mo's group, consuming enemies or their power and using its resilient material body in close combat. The transition is therefore not a destruction of the captured seal but a transformation of its operation and identity. (Chapters 464, 466–469, 614–617, and 640–644)

A sentient combatant in the final war

In the ancient ruins, the soldier joins Lil' Pagoda in swallowing white mist. The meal incapacitates it for a time but ultimately strengthens rather than destroys it. After sleeping through part of the journey beyond the endless void, it wakes, teaches Ghost Mist Child with conspicuous cunning, and even refuses unsuitable nether sand, confirming both independent judgment and selective appetite. (Chapters 789–799, 854–857, and 867–872)

The soldier remains with Zuo Mo's party and later fights Hai Xin Bing in the King's Domain. By then its body carries armor-like shen glyphs and wields shen fire against her extreme-cold attack. No later scene records its capture, dismantling, or death, so its final documented state is that of an active allied person-artifact rather than a passive seal in storage. (Chapters 875–877 and 890)

Abilities and properties

  • Dual physical forms: The original soldier can contract into black-gold seal paper and expand into a hard material combat body. Damage to the paper requires repair, but the manifested body is unusually resilient. (Chapters 450–452 and 463)
  • Reforged intelligence: Golden crystal sand, an intelligent totem fragment, and the sacrifice of Golden Armor Guards produce speech, appetite, initiative, and a distinct personality. It can disobey the behavioral expectations of an ordinary seal while remaining allied with Zuo Mo. (Chapters 463–464)
  • Consumption and recovery: The soldier devours or absorbs compatible targets and energies. Large or strange meals can cause prolonged indigestion and sleep, and it may reject material it considers unsuitable. (Chapters 466–469, 789–799, and 867–872)
  • Material-body combat: It relies on strength, speed, endurance, and sudden opportunistic attacks. Later transformations allow its body to carry shen glyphs and channel shen fire within Zuo Mo's King's Domain. (Chapters 450–452, 640–644, and 890)
  • Independent agency: It emerges from Zuo Mo's ring on its own, chooses how to fight, bargains and boasts, and mentors another sentient artifact. These actions limit any description of it as merely controlled property. (Chapters 464, 640, and 867–869)
