Zuo Han is the Black Wind Bandits' one-eyed, lame second-in-command. His injuries from Wei Sheng turn the band's pursuit of treasure into a personal revenge campaign against Wu Kong Sword Sect.

Biography

Documented arc

Zuo Han helps evaluate reports that three travelers have found a secret realm, but recognizes one as connected to the group that crippled him. Wei Sheng had previously defeated the Black Wind Bandits and left sword essence in Zuo Han's wounds, preventing medicine from restoring his lost eye and damaged leg. Zuo Han asks to pursue revenge alone rather than burden the band, yet leader Zhang Hao refuses to abandon a veteran of ten years and commits the group to the attack. Even while hatred drives him, Zuo Han waits for orders and follows the band's coordinated tactics. (Chapters 183–188)

Inside Zuo Mo's formation, Zuo Han uses poisonous mist to conceal and protect himself. Guided by Lil' Pagoda, Zuo Mo bypasses that concealment and detonates a yin fire bead nearby. The cold spreads before Zuo Han can respond, freezes him and his fan into a white statue, and leaves his body to crumble in the wind. (Chapters 188–192)

Appearance and personality

Zuo Han has one eye, a lame leg, twisted features, and a visible expression of deep hatred. He is vengeful but not wholly undisciplined: he is loyal to Zhang Hao, values the band, volunteers to carry his own revenge, and suppresses his urge until commanded. (Chapters 183–188)

Abilities and cultivation

Zuo Han uses a Hundred Poison Fan to produce multicolored poisonous miasma. The cloud conceals his figure, absorbs or neutralizes sound arrows, and offers a strong specialized defense against some formation attacks. (Chapters 187–191)

The fan is not effective in a direct contest of raw strength, and concealment fails once Lil' Pagoda identifies his position. Zuo Han's existing injuries resist healing because Wei Sheng's sword essence remains in them, further limiting his mobility. Yin fire freezes him before he can counter. (Chapters 184, 187, and 191–192)

Relationships

  • Zhang Hao: Zuo Han has followed the Black Wind Bandits' leader for ten years and is regarded as a valuable old subordinate. Zhang Hao risks the band rather than leave his revenge unsupported. (Chapters 183–188)
  • Wei Sheng: Wei Sheng caused Zuo Han's permanent injuries, making him the focus of Zuo Han's hatred toward Wu Kong Sword Sect. (Chapters 184 and 188)
