Shen Yu

Shen Yu is the Shen Family's heir and its greatest reported genius in two centuries. His Peacock King bloodline gives him a spatial domain and a transformed plume weapon, making him the most formidable of the young nobles seeking Princess Xia's attention.

Documented arc

Shen Yu enters Great Peace City as a celebrated family heir already experienced at general level. At Princess Xia's banquet, hostility between the Shen and Lan families leads him to challenge Lan Rong, intending to damage his rival's standing. Instead, the drunken Zuo Mo, then known publicly as Xiao Mo Ge, interrupts and humiliates him. Shen Yu redirects the challenge toward Zuo Mo, interprets Princess Xia's provision of the wager as personal favor, and enters the arena confident that his long cultivation of the Peacock King inheritance will overwhelm an uncultured opponent. (Chapters 593 and 602–604)

Shen Yu opens the contest with the Peacock Eyespot Domain, distorting distance and filling the field with eyespots meant to entangle Zuo Mo until resistance becomes impossible. Zuo Mo disrupts the domain's stability through repeated, forceful attacks on the ground. Shen Yu then invokes the Peacock King Plume and commits to a stronger transformed state, but Zuo Mo's Reversed Stellar Revolution catches the plume and floods the contest area with fire. Shen Yu screams and is reduced to ash, ending the Shen Family's attempt to display its heir's superiority. (Chapters 604–606)

Appearance and personality

Shen Yu is handsome and carries a cold, dignified presence likened to a mo god. In combat, five-colored feathers descend from his shoulders like a cape and a peacock crown appears on his head; the transformation makes him look princely. He is proud, status-conscious, possessive in his pursuit of Princess Xia, and quick to murderous anger when mocked. His experience supports real confidence, but he underestimates an opponent whose power does not follow the conventions he expects. (Chapters 602–604)

Abilities and cultivation

Shen Yu entered general level in his teens and has remained there long enough to develop both a mo physique and domain from his Peacock King bloodline. The Peacock Eyespot Domain alters perceived and effective distance: an opponent appears farther away, while eyespots spread across ground and air to constrain movement. It is a control method intended to win progressively rather than through a single collision. (Chapters 603–605)

The Peacock King Plume is the concentrated offensive expression of the inheritance. During transformation, his feathers merge into a matrix, his crown becomes a helmet, and a half-chi five-colored feather forms in his hand. The domain is not unbreakable: brute disruption can destabilize its eyespots, and Shen Yu's version is later judged less complete than a stronger spatial domain. Once Zuo Mo seizes the plume's momentum with fire and stellar force, Shen Yu cannot recover. (Chapters 604–606 and 619)

Relationships

• Shen Family: Shen Yu is its heir and premier young genius. His status, bloodline, and cultivated inheritance make his defeat a loss to the family's prestige as well as its succession. (Chapters 602–606)
• Princess Xia: Shen Yu is one of her suitors and mistakes her payment of the challenge stake as evidence of favor. Her actual motives are not aligned with his assumptions. (Chapters 603–604)
• Lan Rong: Their families are opposed, and Shen Yu initially uses the banquet challenge to attack Lan Rong's reputation. Zuo Mo's intervention diverts the fight. (Chapter 602)
• Zuo Mo: Zuo Mo publicly insults him, accepts his challenge, breaks his domain, and kills him with a fire-filled counterattack. (Chapters 602–606)

• Peacock King Plume: The plume appears through Shen Yu's bloodline transformation and mo matrix rather than being documented as an independently purchased weapon. It is consumed or lost when Shen Yu burns to ash; no later owner is named. (Chapters 604–606)
