Rong Wei

Rong Wei is an emissary of the House of the Crow Marquis whose investigation of Stars in Daytime brings her into contact with Golden Crow City's forces. Her value lies chiefly in military judgment, intelligence, and diplomacy rather than demonstrated personal combat.

Rong Wei travels from Sky Water Jie to devastated Little Mountain Jie with compound guards, seeking the cause of Stars in Daytime. After watching Vermillion Bird Camp destroy a larger force, she recognizes that its members are individually less cultivated than her guards yet far more dangerous together. She persists in following the troop, identifies Gongsun Cha as a Silver battle general, watches Golden Crow City's confrontation with Clear Sky Old Forefather, and ultimately proposes cooperation to Zuo Mo. Her stated aim is to investigate the omen, which she understands as a sign that the yao and mo are recovering, while also making useful acquaintances before the wider conflict arrives. Rong Wei joins the refugees leaving Little Mountain Jie and provides a limited jie map for Zuo Mo to copy. At the Sky Water Jie boundary, local faction leaders recognize her, and she mediates before a tense encounter becomes a battle. She then guides the convoy toward Bright Water City, uses the Crow Marquis house's commercial connections to help with arrangements, and departs when family affairs require her attention. Later, news of Zuo Mo's conflict in Sky Water Jie alarms her; another elder's assessment that her “eyes” are reliable confirms her standing as a perceptive judge of troops. Appearance and personality

The corpus identifies Rong Wei as a young woman and repeatedly addresses her as “Miss,” but gives no stable description of her hair, clothing, or facial features. She is observant, cautious, persistent, and socially poised. She follows a frightening army without mistaking bravery for safety, speaks carefully around stronger parties, and knows that the Marquis household's name has limits. Her curiosity about great events is balanced by a practical interest in alliances and information. (Chapters 282, 286, 297, and 302–307)

Abilities and cultivation

Rong Wei is explicitly a Bronze battle general. She can read formation discipline, distinguish individual cultivation from collective combat power, recognize encirclement and attrition tactics, and accurately identify Gongsun Cha's higher command rank. Her upbringing in the Crow Marquis compound also gives her broad historical knowledge about yao, mo, and Stars in Daytime. (Chapters 286 and 295–302)

No scene shows Rong Wei personally leading a battlefield formation or using a named combat technique. Her practical limits are clear: she does not attempt to recruit Gongsun Cha by force, cannot intervene directly against Clear Sky Old Forefather, and relies on negotiation, household prestige, and guards when moving through dangerous territory. • Zuo Mo: Rong Wei first studies his force from a distance, then negotiates cooperation and helps his people enter Sky Water Jie. She views him as both difficult to read and important to know. (Chapters 286 and 302–307)
