Cang Lin

Cang Lin is Cang Ze's cousin and a former hope of the declining Grey Clan. A malicious consciousness imprint ruins his prospects until Xiao Mo Ge removes it, after which Cang Lin pledges service and begins recovering.

Biography

Ancient Battlefield and Turtle Island

Cang Lin meets Zuo Mo because his experience in the third prison can answer questions about market bounties. Once the Grey Clan's most talented youth, he had been left worn down and dim-eyed by a malicious yao-art imprint that resisted the elders' treatments and slowed the flows in his consciousness. Zuo Mo deconstructs the blood-vine imprint, restoring light to Cang Lin's eyes; Cang Lin calls the healing a rebirth and pledges to fulfill Zuo Mo's orders. While recovering, he records Zuo Mo's wartime instruction and later explains that only military high command or the Council of Elders can overturn the Heavy Earth Corps' draft order. Appearance and personality

Cang Lin resembles his cousin Cang Ze but initially looks worn down, with a pale face, dim gaze, and dry, hoarse voice. After healing, his eyes regain light. He is respectful, grateful, observant, and serious enough to preserve useful instruction through a recording art. (Chapters 386–399)

Abilities and cultivation

Cang Lin had enough talent to enter the third prison while young and possessed practical knowledge of its markets and bounties. After recovery, the clan expects his cultivation to rise quickly if he learns Grey Scar Art. He also knows the authority structure governing military draft notices. (Chapters 386, 392, and 404)

No post-healing combat or cultivation realm is shown. His consciousness needs time to recover, and the damaged flows had previously ended his progress despite all clan treatment. Claims about his future remain expectations, not demonstrated feats. (Chapters 386–399)
