Husare

Husare is a reptilian assassin sent by the TriCobra Sect to aid Daneel Anivron. A direct descendant of the Basilisk's privileged line, she leads the three-person Mainland delegation and becomes an unwilling but important source of intelligence, advanced spellcraft, and logistical support during Angaria's war with the Church. (Chapters 1018–1164)

Biography

An arrogant emissary becomes a wartime asset

Husare arrives with Borock and Feralt under orders from Alistair, immediately declares herself the leader, and treats Angaria as a backward land beneath her notice. She operates the TriCobra device that lets the group rise through the barrier above the world and leads the assault on the Church's observation “eye.” The delegation then tries to intimidate Daneel into surrendering control of the captured Church Artefact, but his preparations expose their bluff. Forced to admit that Alistair ordered them to obey her chosen “pet Basilisk,” Husare exchanges swaggering superiority for resentful service under the Godking she had dismissed. (Chapters 1018–1032)

Once bound to Daneel's commands, Husare supplies a database of Church personnel, anti-Church resources, Artefacts, and a crystal device that transfers information directly into his mind. Although she calls herself a messenger rather than a warfare specialist, she builds a detailed model of Angaria and the invading forces, warns of a secret expeditionary base, and helps interpret Mainland power. Her information enables traps against successive Church waves; later, her expertise with persuasion and a short-term forgetfulness Artefact becomes part of Daneel's plan for the captured commanders. By the end, she is still alive, has taken the Bishop into custody, and tells Daneel that Alistair is waiting to transport him to the TriCobra base. (Chapters 1062–1072, 1090, 1107, 1115, 1125–1129, 1156, and 1164)

Appearance and personality

Husare is a female reptilian with narrow, snake-like eyes. Her posture and speech project rank: she smirks while displaying unfamiliar technology, bristles whenever Daneel commands her, and repeatedly boasts about the TriCobra Sect. Pride and contempt initially dominate her behavior, but she is also observant, trained, and capable of becoming urgently practical when a Church threat leaves no time for posturing. (Chapters 1018–1020, 1062–1064, and 1069–1072)

Abilities and power

Husare is trained as a TriCobra assassin and messenger, but the supplied chapters do not state a precise realm for her. She can cast advanced Mainland spells, operate identity-locked Artefacts, and coordinate with two other specialized assassins. Her wartime projection spell adds accurately scaled settlements, terrain, troop groups, and weapons to an image of Angaria; Daneel notes that the spell is absent even from the Order's extensive records. These methods provide exceptional reconnaissance and planning support, but Husare openly says that she is not a warfare specialist, and her knowledge of Saints and the Heavenly Barrier has important gaps. (Chapters 1020, 1062–1072, and 1125)

Her signature utility is the use of specialized TriCobra equipment. The sky-barrier Artefact lets the team reach otherwise inaccessible altitude, while the crystal dagger installs a prepared information structure into Daneel's consciousness. She also carries an area-capable Artefact that can cause targets to forget roughly five seconds when they consent, an effect weakened when spread across multiple people. These tools require the proper spell, authorization, circumstances, or cooperation; they are not free-form powers. Her latest application is logistical rather than offensive: she escorts the captive Bishop and prepares Daneel's route to the TriCobra base. (Chapters 1020, 1031–1032, 1129, and 1164)

Relationships

  • Daneel Anivron: Husare begins by belittling him and helping deceive him, but Alistair's command makes him her superior. She never loses her irritation, yet her intelligence, equipment, and warnings become integral to his war plans, and she finally arranges his departure from Angaria. (Chapters 1018–1032, 1062–1072, and 1164)
  • Alistair: Husare is a direct descendant of Alistair's privileged Basilisk line and treats her as “Lady Alistair.” Her authority over the delegation, and therefore Husare's enforced obedience to Daneel, comes from Alistair's orders. (Chapters 1018, 1030, and 1164)
  • Aran: Aran openly dislikes the assassins' constant swagger and mocks them when the war appears won. Husare silences him when new information reveals that the Bishop has called Mainland reinforcements, showing that their friction gives way to crisis discipline. (Chapter 1129)

Items

  • Sky-barrier Artefact: A TriCobra orb activated through a complex password-like spell. It expands into a protective structure that lets the delegation cross the otherwise impassable high-altitude barrier, but it must be operated by authorized personnel. (Chapters 1020 and 1029)
  • Crystal information dagger: A shimmering blade with a needle-like hilt that Husare drives into Daneel's head to transfer the sect's prepared information. It functions as a data-delivery device rather than an ordinary weapon in its demonstrated use. (Chapter 1032)
  • Forgetfulness Artefact: A precious persuasion tool capable of erasing a few seconds from willing targets; its effectiveness falls when applied across an area without individual cooperation. (Chapter 1129)
